Meet Htown Mexicano Misery of South East Houston Texas

Today we’d like to introduce you to Htown Mexicano Misery.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started off writing poems , short stories and even comic books in middle school I viewed it as an outlet for some of the problems I was facing at the time . I soon started writing poems and even comic book trips for other people . I loved art .
I grew up in a traditional mexican household so everything I listened to was either cumbias , norten̈os or corridos just spanish music no rap or rock was allowed in the house until I got introduced to the internet at the time and started downloading music off of limewire. I started off with old school NWA , BIG L , Tupac Biggie just west coast and east coast rappers of who I had never heard of before and got immediately hooked and started looking for other artists who did what they did but were my own race which led me to the Lil Robs , Baby Bash Quinto Sol , Cartel De Santa and more , I guess in a way the music does take you down a path because I ended up saying Oh they can do that so can I.
I bought a microphone from Walmart hooked it up to the computer and start recording on a program called Audacity .It’s funny now thinking about it because I would have my little cousins and brothers sing hooks for me I wish I could find all those songs from back then I’m sure old me would be proud to hear the new sound I came up with .

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I think every artists path is never smooth its always hard going against the grain and against the “traditional” way of living .The stress of creating can sometimes be overbearing plus carrying the load of oh you aren’t mexican because you make rap music always hit me hard specially hearing it from your own family members. Not only that but also getting criticized by people who look like you back then in middle school was a challenge all by itself specially since my first language was Spanish and looked down upon for not speaking Spanish is a struggle all by itself and is what led me into the gang life in many ways Nowadays everybody wants to be mexican so I say I was cool before everybody else lol I’ve always been the Htown Mexicano.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I’m an artists , songwriter audio engineer , graphic designer , music video editor plus videographer and photographer . You have to be everything nowadays all in one specially starting off trying to save money for my daughters . I’ve been on many different stages have been in many different studios and made songs with great artists but my greatest accomplishment and the thing I’m most proud of in life is my little girls .I even said it in one of my lines like if I was talking to my mom ” HEY MOMMIE, I WAS BOUT TO JOIN ILLUMINATI , BUT FIRST I HAD TO TEACH MY DAUGHTER HOW TO USE THE POTTY” lol even if i don’t ever make it to the top i know I’ve chosen the right thing which is be with them every step of the way .

What are your plans for the future?
My next project is an album ,I have dropped about 8 different mixtapes , and EP’S , I have about 100 plus songs in my catalog but this will be my first all original project where I got the best producers and engineers I know and the biggest artists I know like GT Garza Krystal Poppin Juan Gotti Kap G and others and compiled some of the best songs I’ve ever dropped into a 13 song album called Unguided Talent I have everywhere from west coast type vibes to even country trap vibes in it . It’s going to be one for the books for sure . I’m going to drop this album along with the music videos with it and hopefully it gets some traction because I’m known in my city but I want the world to know who the Htown Mexicano is .
I might even get a manager lol
I’ve done everything by myself so far and like I said its hectic balancing out a family life a music life and a working 9 to 5 life because unlike before I’m not in the gang life anymore and I’m not out there selling anything anymore I’m just selling merchandise like shirts and Keychain albums and vynils .lol…
that’s one of the reasons my album is called Unguided Talent I never really had anybody tell me what to do when it came to this all the moves I’ve done have been all me all by myself with nobody to help .
