Krystal , thank you so much for joining us today. We’d love for you to bring our readers up to speed – can you introduce yourself and share your story?
I started making things because I needed a hug and an escape. My mother raised me under the guise of bluntness. She would always say “I know what you said, not what you meant.” Her words live in an echo chamber inside of my mind, constantly reminding me of the weight of speech. Although I am propelled by endearing words, there are many who feel that same gratification when receiving gifts.
My favorite part of birthday gifts is the cards; no, it is not because money rains from within. It is the impact of the words. It’s that warm and fuzzy feeling. That is what Krowned Kreations BKD does. A client’s vision, my skill, and patience that only God can build. Fold all of those things into each other, and clients are left with a creation that is warm, comforting, and lasting – the ingredients of the perfect hug.
Please talk to us about your creative work and career. What should we know?
I create custom drinkware. I am tangible. I will speak with you. I am real. It is so easy to imagine that the person on your screen is hidden away in a basement, hoping and praying that you’ll never ask them a question. That is just untrue. You can reach out to me with your “wild” and unorthodox ideas. If we can imagine it, I can get it onto a tumbler. I love the idea of looking at nothing, and a few weeks later, boom, there’s a blinged-out face on a cup. Or a zebra-print NFL tumbler, a custom cup to sport during your homecoming, or whatever your imagination drafts. It’s your hug, tell me how tight you want it! Rachel Sheffield has been a great friend to us and I know you’ve got a great relationship as well. Maybe you can tell our audience a bit about Rachel and your experience with them.
The Fabulous “Rachel Designs”! Rachel Designs is owned by an immeasurably inspiring woman, a lady. Rachel Sheffield. I can usually spew an answer to questions with little thought, but when it comes to Rachel and Rachel Designs, I need to figure out where to begin.
Rachel Designs helped me with early ads for a previous business; that was our first business interaction. Recently working with Rachel Designs as a vendor was beautiful. Being a third party when you’re used to being the client’s point of contact can be uncomfortable. However, Rachel communicated the client’s requests clearly and even caught a print issue that I had yet to notice. Ms. Sheffield responded swiftly and provided the client’s reaction, which is essential to me.
Another point of importance is knowing how the company you are vending through is fulfilling its orders, what the process is, etc. For example, I have ordered products from Rachel Designs through its Redbubble store, and the experience has rendered nothing less than satisfaction. In addition, she has impressive wearable art!
Now, Miss Rachel Sheffield.
Rachel “Little Sarah” Sheffield terrifies me wonderfully. She is brazen by every definition. Rachel is bold, as strong as brass, and evolves without shame. She is the personification of joy, and to be allowed the grace of her friendship is indescribable. I am not the call you every day, “did you hear about…”, “let’s go to the club” friend. Instead, I am the “what can I learn from you” kind of friend. I observe my friends because they each have admirable characteristics, and I have a lot to learn. I believe that God divinely placed Rachel into my life. Through her actions, I have learned the significance of showing up for yourself and the value of consistency.
I look forward to being repeatedly intimidated by the allure of my friend, Miss Rachel Sheffield.
