Meet Laurie Fulenwider of Caseta Photography in Kingwood

Today we’d like to introduce you to Laurie Fulenwider.

Laurie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started my photography journey when my babies were small. I remember taking them to a photo session and they hated it. They hated to be in a small dark room with a stranger trying to make them smile. I remember looking at the images of my babies smiling but with a scared look in their little eyes. So we decided to take the plunge and buy a better camera and that is how Caseta Photography came to be. Ever since. I have been working on broadening my knowledge and skillset. It takes a lot of patience and hard work but I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It definitely has not been a smooth ride. It is hard to be a mother, wife, and still have time to manage a business, which requires a lot of your time and effort to run. You always have to be present and willing to keep learning non-stop. From how to be the best you can be in your chosen field, to learning the ins and outs of managing financials. There is always something new to learn. That being said, the rewards of hard work are always well worth the struggle.

Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
I am a natural light digital fine art photographer. I specialize in Fashion, Family, Child, Teens, and High school seniors Fine Art portraiture.

I’m focused in providing the best story I am able to, through a photograph that is a piece of art which can be treasured by my clients and their families for many many years to come. I am so proud of all the hard work I have put into my craftsmanship and how my vision transitions in to something special. I have a lot of super exciting plans for the near future! Some witch includes paying it forward by teaching what I have learned, so please check out my website and pages for more information on that soon.

Any shoutouts? Who else deserves credit in this story – who has played a meaningful role?
My husband! He is an incredible man who has supported me without a single question. He is always there to lend a hand for whatever it is that I need. My beautiful children who cheer mommy on every single time I need cheering on. and every time, mommy needs a model too. (That is a lot of hard work and they do it with a big smile every single time).

My family who are always there for me no matter what. All my friends who are there the second I need them. And of course, my amazing clients who believe in me and trust in my creative vision to capture something special and memorable for them.
