monis, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I grew up on the southside of houston tx , sunnyside and southlawn to be exact …
I’ve always wanted to do hair .
My mom did hair …
I feel like it was a trait that just got passed down .
My business name “Elexus Extensions “
was thought of from my sister Tatti.
Everybody grows up wanting their own business but many don’t be consistent or have other things going on in life til where their not focused .
Me on the other hand … I knew this is something I honestly wanted to do in life , I took it serious & never looked back !
Although it has its ups and downs … I still pray and keep it going .
I honestly just took off one day with ponytails in 2020 .
I literally just woke up one day with like 6 appts !
After getting on social media posting content …I can for sure say that it helped me get my clients !
I haven’t actually had a job in 5 years !
I’ve been living off of “ElexusExtensions” and i thank god from the bottom of my heart !
Today we in the year of 2025 & I’m still striving to uplift my business , build more clientele , network more , do more content …honestly anything to promote my business !
I go by the name Monis “Mony with the Pony’s ” … I’m only going to get better & bigger !
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It honestly haven’t been a smooth road. I have 2 daughters that I also have to be a mother to …
Between working & being a mother it definitely can become a challenge .
It’s really up to you as a person to have a strong mind to keep pushing and moving fwd .
Its’s so easy to give up and throw something away but it’s take hard work and dedication to build something you really want !

I’m literally obsessed with Ponytails !
I also do different other styles such as up do’s , braided pony’s , half up half downs , buns , quickweaves & etc.
I’m known for the way i can sleek different hair textures down and also known for the speed of my work !

Me & most of my clients have a bond …
Sometimes they hair appts is the only time they have to vent and get advise from another woman and I actually love the talks ! the advise we can give one another ! The collabs ! The networking ! The Help !
What sets me apart for others is my uniqueness !

If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
Growing up I was the girly girl and rough at the same time .
I always stayed in the spotlight , Always dressed , I love accessories and jewelry …
I grew up with love from my mother to grandparents .
I loved school . I was a mother in high school so that was very challenging .
I always was loud and goofy .
Literally you can hear my laugh from around the corner .
I always been a uplifted person !
