Today we’d like to introduce you to Sonia Ali.
Sonia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My name is Sonia Ali, and I am the owner and founder of Chic Lé Boutique. Chic Lé Boutique is an online boutique store that was founded in 2019. We cater to women looking for a trendy, chic, and sophisticated look without compromising on their budget.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It hasn’t been the smoothest ride so far, I’ve come to realize with being an entrepreneur, you’re constantly always learning new things in your business as well as struggles and obstacles that you will have to deal with along the way. It’s about how you go about and get through each issue to make sure they are not reoccurring. Working a full time day job and running a business can be difficult at times, but my passion for this company is what keeps me going and high hopes that someday I can make this into something big.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I have always had a self goal of opening up my own clothing boutique, and in May of 2019, I decided to start a new venture, Chic Lé Boutique. After months and months of meeting with vendors, getting website ideas, and final looks together, I finally launched Chic Le Boutique in November of 2019. We launched right before Black Friday and Cyber Monday so our customers could get some holiday looks at discounted prices in. So far, business has been great. I have learned so much along the way. As of right now, we are currently only online-based; although if you do live locally, we do complimentary local pick ups and drop off’s if needed. Also, we are in the works of a pop-up shop currently and are shooting for sometime this summer in Houston, Texas. I appreciate all the support I have been given throughout this journey and cannot wait to see what’s in store for Chic Le Boutique in the near future!
What were you like growing up?
Growing up, I always knew I would someday be an entrepreneur of some sort. As an 18 year old back in my senior year of high school, I was already four jobs in-working was something I loved doing at a young age. With time I soon realized my passion for the fashion world. At the time, I was currently going to law school to pursue a legal career. After finishing up my law degree, I started working in various law firms and started soon realizing I did not have that fulfillment with what I was doing. I then decided to start learning more about the e-commerce business, and after much research and learning the ins and outs of e-commerce and online stores, I decided to give it a go and dive in a while still working my full time job at the law firm.
