Meet Whitney Cabeen and Keith Evans of KW Walkers in Northwest Side

Today we’d like to introduce you to Whitney Cabeen and Keith Evans.

Both of them have always had a love for animals. Whitney kept begging Keith for a fur-child of her own and instead of becoming a puppy parent to one, she became a guardian to many. Eventually, KW Walkers was born and Keith and Whitney became the happiest people ever. Fast forward 9 months and KW Walkers is growing faster than they ever dreamed. Why? They believe it is because they truly care about their clients and their furry friends, and they do whatever they can to provide the best service for your best friend. Also, KW Walkers doesn’t have any extra travel, holiday, or cancellation fees, so they think that helps, too. 🙂

Has it been a smooth road?
One of the only struggles we have faced is marketing to potential afternoon clients. If you know anyone needing a dog walk or a drop in from 3-7 pm, Monday through Friday, please let us know and we would be happy to help! Other than that, it has been an extremely smooth road. We are very flexible and I think our clients really appreciate that.

So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the KW Walkers story. Tell us more about the business.
KW Walkers is Houston’s new pet service company. We are located in Northwest Houston but we travel anywhere including Katy, Spring, Cypress, Briar Forest, The Heights, to name a few. We provide a friendly and professional service for pet sitting and dog walking for any breed. We pride ourselves on being flexible and working with our customers to ensure a quality experience for you and your friend. Here at KW Walkers, Keith and I provide pet sitting, dog walking, drop-ins, and even gourmet dog treats and food. However, what makes us unique is that when we pet sit, we pet sit for 4 hours per day, not 30 minutes like the other guy. KW Walkers also has no travel fees, no cancellation fees, no holiday fees, and no outrageous fees like an “oral medication” fee or a “key pick up” fee. We believe those should be included in your cost, as well as bringing in your mail or watering your plants.

What sets us apart from our competition is that KW Walkers doesn’t have any extra fees, we travel to any area, and we pet sit for 4 hours per day. The thing we love most about our company is that we are able to provide more companionship and more one on one time with your animals during the day so we can really get to know them. And that way, when you come back from your vacation or your business trip, it is like you never left!

How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Since we are averaging 3.5 new clients per month, in 5-10 years, both Keith and I see ourselves doing KW Walkers full time. My goal was to be able to do KW Walkers full time in 2 years, and I am almost there after only 9 months! We were actually talking about this the other day-what if we had employees and offices in every area we service? The goal in the end, however, is quality over quantity. It would be amazing to become one of Houston’s top pet service companies, but we aren’t going to risk losing current clients and what we stand for to expand. But in 5 to 10 years we can definitely see us having at least one employee in every area we service, and we service a lot of areas.
