Rising Stars: Meet Ericka Garrison of City Center

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ericka Garrison.

Hi Ericka, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My journey into branding and marketing started with my education—I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Middle Tennessee State University, where I also minored in Organizational Communication. That foundation helped me understand not just how to craft a message, but how to connect with audiences in meaningful ways.

After graduation, I took my skills overseas and worked on branding and positioning boutique hotels in Barcelona. That experience really cemented my love for hospitality, design, and storytelling—and showed me how strategy and aesthetics can transform a business.

When I returned to the States, I moved to Houston and spent four years helping build the Stuff To Do In Houston brand. It was there that I began to notice a pattern: small businesses would go viral from a TikTok or Instagram feature, but without structure or strategy, the momentum wouldn’t last.

That realization led me to launch ENG Publicity—a boutique agency focused on turning visibility into longevity. Today, I work with amazing brands across food, hospitality, beauty, and experiences. My mission is simple: help small businesses show up like big brands, while still keeping their authenticity front and center.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Absolutely not. But I also believe anything worth having doesn’t come easy. I don’t mean to take you to church, but being an entrepreneur requires an abundance of faith—even when the path isn’t clear and the answers aren’t in front of you.

Some of the struggles I’ve faced include burnout, inconsistent cash flow, stagnant periods in client growth, and the mental weight that comes with being the one responsible for every moving part of your business AND the success of someone else’s.

However, every challenge has taught me how to run my business more sustainably. I’ve also realized that the struggles so many of us “boss babes” face aren’t personal—they’re part of the process.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m the founder of ENG Publicity, a boutique agency that helps small businesses show up like big brands. I specialize in digital marketing strategy, brand positioning, and project management—basically everything that goes into making sure a business not only looks good online but also operates smoothly behind the scenes.

I work with a wide range of clients—from restaurants and luxury experiences to local retailers—and what I’m known for is my ability to blend creative vision with operational execution. I’m not just here to make things look pretty; I’m here to help brands move with intention, structure, and impact.

One of the things I’m most proud of is building a roster of clients strictly through word of mouth and results. I’ve helped businesses go from being featured once on Instagram to developing long-term campaigns, growing loyal audiences, and increasing revenue—without losing their authenticity.

What sets me apart is my background. I’ve done the international hotel marketing thing, I’ve built community brands like Stuff To Do In Houston, and I’ve been the person behind 60+ campaigns at a time. So when I walk into a room with a client, I’m not just thinking like a marketer—I’m thinking like a strategist, an operator, and a collaborator. I care about my clients’ wins, and I bring that energy to every project.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I absolutely wouldn’t be where I am without the support of God and some incredible people.

My family has also played a huge role. They keep me grounded and are the first to pour into me with motivation, especially during those moments when I can’t seem to find it within myself.

Miracle Bey, one of my longtime clients and now dear friend. She’s not only trusted me with her brand, but she continues to market for me through referrals, introductions, and unwavering support. She’s the kind of client every entrepreneur dreams of.

Then there’s Bianka Curvey, a colleague and creative brain I can always count on. Whether I need to talk through a strategy or just grab a drink and knock out ideas, she’s been a rock for brainstorming and execution.

And I can’t forget Kelci Wallace—someone I truly look up to professionally. She’s a constant source of inspiration and always makes me feel seen and supported in my work. Everyone needs a Kelci in their corner.

These people have shown up for me in ways big and small, and I’m beyond grateful for the part they’ve played in my journey.
