Hi ladies, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Here’s a little about WONNiT, Two Texas Moms. One made-up word. A whole lot of meaning.
We started WONNiT because we knew exactly what we wanted to make. As longtime friends, we’ve spent years together on the sidelines, in the carpool line, and cheering on our boys. Along the way, we realized we shared the same vision: clothing that’s intentional, aesthetically pleasing, durable enough for how boys actually live, and versatile enough to take them from school, to the field, to the dinner table.
That’s the whole idea. WONNiT is designed so everything coordinates – not by accident, but by intention. Every piece is created to work together, giving boys the freedom to choose what they love while making every outfit feel pulled together. It’s classic enough for you and bold enough for him. Win-win.
But the name means something bigger than clothing.
WONNiT is the belief that before anything great happens, you have to want it first. The kind of wanting that makes you dream about it, work for it, and keep going long before anyone else sees the result. Whether it’s making the team, achieving your goals, winning the championship, finding your purpose, every dream starts with a vision and the determination to chase it.
That’s why we chose the name WONNiT. We want boys to grow up believing they can pursue big things with confidence, grit, optimism, and ambition. The clothes are simply part of that journey: created for the boys who are going places and the parents who cheer them on.
Because before you win it, you gotta WONNiT.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Like any new business, there have been challenges, but we’ve genuinely enjoyed the process. From day one, it’s been just the two of us. We’ve designed every product ourselves, created our own patterns, built our website, managed social media, packed orders, and learned countless new skills along the way.
In some ways, we’re glad we didn’t know everything that would be required upfront. We simply took on one challenge at a time, and each new skill gave us the confidence to tackle the next. Every hurdle has made us more resilient, more resourceful, and more appreciative of the wins, both big and small, allowing us to create a product we’re truly proud to put our name on.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
We specialize in creating boys’ apparel that bridges the gap between athletic and classic. Boys want to live in athletic shorts, and parents want them to look put together – we set out to create both.
What we’re most proud of is designing clothing that functions for real life. Our pieces are comfortable enough for sports, durable enough for play, and polished enough for school, dinner, and everything in between. We believe boys shouldn’t have to choose between comfort and looking presentable.
What sets WONNiT apart is our ability to blend bold, kid-approved designs with a classic, coordinated aesthetic. It’s the best of both worlds: athletic apparel boys actually want to wear and styles parents are happy to see them in.
How do you define success?
Success, to us, isn’t measured monetarily – it’s measured by how we spend our time and who we spend it with. It’s building something we’re proud of alongside our families, creating opportunities for our kids to see what’s possible, and doing work that feels meaningful. We believe success starts long before the win. It starts with wanting something enough to go after it.
