Rising Stars: Meet Tim Qualls

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tim Qualls

Hi Tim , thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Been a part of the Houston music scene for over a decade. Excited to release a stripped version of my debut album which is called FEEL.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I wouldn’t say smooth, but I have never stopped making music! I feel like I have had a ton of musical growth over the last 3-4 years and I can honestly say I am making the best music of my life.

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
First and foremost, I am an artist. But over the last few years I have fallen in love with helping other artist find their songs and their songs whether that is through producing their songs, or consistently being a part of writing rooms with or for an artist.

Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
You know I used to think that if I worked with you on something or hired you for something, that we would become real close, but that isn’t real life. I’ve found that you don’t need a ton of people to help you and guide on your journey. If you need a mentor, go out there and ask them. You have nothing to use. Maybe ask them to borrow some of their time and buy them a coffee, but don’t forget it has to be worth it for them as well. And once you find those people that are your team and your cheer leaders, don’t ever forgot to cheer them on, and invest in their lives as well. It will always be a two way street.
