Meet TyQuisha (Ty) Davis

Today we’d like to introduce you to TyQuisha (Ty) Davis.

TyQuisha (Ty), please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started braiding when I was seven years old. I really didn’t know much about hair, all I knew was that I wanted to braid my Barbie hair to her head and I just kept challenging myself until I got better and better. A few years past and I remembered doing my sisters hair, classmates; friends and family members throughout the years. I remember it was my junior year and I was willing to give up basketball to do cosmetology and my mother told me that I was not doing a trade and that I am going to college. I went to College on a Full Basketball Scholarship I attended The University of New Orleans(UNO) UNO was in the Sunbelt Conference Division 1. I graduated from UNO in 2009 double major in sociology and interdisciplinary studies. I pursued basketball for a while and worked in Spring ISD until they laid me off twice. At this time, I am doing temp jobs and doing hair part-time. My skill was setting me up for life. 2019 I am a well establish Holistic Stylist Located in Houston, TX.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Gifted Hands By Ty Davis Has Been Operating Fulltime for five years. My Road has been smooth due to obedience. I wake up every morning with Gratitude. I have my own business and doing what I love each and every second of the day.

My Career Is Sacred I am A Holistic Hairstylist and Owner of Gifted Hands By Ty Davis. , It’s connected to a Higher Pursuit! Something I was Born to do. My Career is in Service to Something Meaningful and Not driven by the pursuit of Success, Fame, or Wealth. I am Rich Because I am Whole and One With God. My Chair is Divine Truth and Love. We teach you not only how to take care of your hair but your spirit. Without your head, your body does not function. So essentially your hair reflects your life. Gifted hands by TY Davis is a righteous, organic movement that exemplifies values and experiences that propels the enlightened towards their greater purpose. Ty’s faith is spiritually grounded by pure intent, which bolsters her skillful approach to growing natural hair with protective styles and her homemade organic product, KA. The use of her gifted hands have transformed many clients hair into a state of healthy growth. Her efforts don’t stop there; she recognizes her calling to create a higher existent for herself and the collective. Ty has strategically positioned herself and her company toward fostering a productive relationship with Self and the world we live in.

What is “success” or “successful” for you?
Success to me is measured by others. I don’t need Validation from anyone to determine whether or not I’m successful. I am Satisfied Mind Body Spirit. My Soul is fulfilled because I do what I love and not having to wake up every morning to do a monotonous ritual just to pay a bill. Everyone who has trust me to blessed their life while utilizing my gifted hands, whether sitting in my chair or purchased my best selling and healing organic products. I believe I have been equipped to restore balance and new beginnings for everyone that has sat in my chair.
