Today we’d like to introduce you to Andy Vu.
Andy, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
My photography journey started in October 2016 after a hiking trip in Yosemite National Park. It was there where I realized my passion for travel and creating contents. In the past 2 years, I have fortunately enough to explore over 20 National Parks and capture the beauty of America has to offer. Through my work, I want to inspire others to explore what this world has to offer,
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
My photography is inspired by nature, wildlife, and outdoor adventures. Through my camera lens, I yearn to tell stories that inspire people to reflect on their relationship with nature at the same time promoting conservation of earth.
Artists rarely, if ever pursue art for the money. Nonetheless, we all have bills and responsibilities and many aspiring artists are discouraged from pursuing art due to financial reasons. Any advice or thoughts you’d like to share with prospective artists?
Besides photography, I work as a full-time ICU nurse at Houston Methodist Hospital where I save up my money for camera equipment’s and traveling. Networking, especially on Social Media, is my advice to you. All of my clients that I have worked with knew me from my Instagram. For me Instagram is a free marketing tool and it is one of the best ways to put your artwork out there without any cost.
What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
I share most of my work and travel adventures through social media, mainly on Instagram. My photos have been featured on National Geographic, Sony Alpha, Cannon, and many other pages on Instagram. You can also visit my website at www.andyvuphotography.com.
