Today we’d like to introduce you to Lucy Dominguez.
Lucy, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
It all started when I started having kids. I wanted to capture every moment of their lives, and did so with the camera on my phone. With my first daughter, I didn’t get to do a maternity shoot or newborn pics, but with my second, I was determined. When I found out u was pregnant for the second time I immediately started looking for a photographer to not only take my maternity pictures, but of my delivery as well. When I saw the prints, I was in love! Then, I wanted more. I wanted to be able to share that same type of feeling I got when I saw the pictures of my second child’s birth story.
Can you give our readers some background on your art?
I aspire to take photography for those who want to capture the moment, and live in it. Everyone has a cellphone and take pictures on it every day. Mostly of senseless things, when you really think about it. However, I want to capture those special moments. Those little smiles that are so effortless, not like those you get through a selfie. To capture my loved ones and friends in their natural habitats, and freeze time through my camera lens. I want to share those moments, and spread joy through my images.
Any advice for aspiring or new artists?
The only advice I can really offer is to do what you love, and love what you’re doing. I picked up photography because I loved taking pictures of my kids and family, and now I love taking pictures for others and sharing that love I have for doing it.
