Art & Life with Mohammad Ali Bhatti

Today we’d like to introduce you to Mohammad Ali Bhatti.

Mohammad Ali, please kick things off for us by telling us about yourself and your journey so far.
My name is Mohammad Ali, originally from Pakistan. I have been teaching studio arts and art history in many international universities and represented by several reputed art galleries around the globe. I have an MFA in painting from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Arts from the Ohio University and currently living in Houston Texas.

Can you give our readers some background on your art?
Painting for me has always been like composing a symphony orchestra. Emotions are expressed through simple shapes and texture. Multiple layers, the juxtaposition of exotic forms and visual interest are heightened with a chaotic interplay of larger vigorous areas against the empty space. Spontaneity and complex forms tend to be the connotation to everyday chaotic life and rapidly changing world in modern times. I also incorporate symbols and ambiguous numbers as references to the fading traditions of many cultures. In my compositions, I use variety of materials and mediums, allow them to bleed and blend naturally that synchronize instinctively with the overall mood of the subject.

What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I am currently teaching at the watercolor society of Houston, where I share my skills and professional experiences with the community. I am also a corporate member at Archway Gallery, where I display my artworks and invite people to be part of the creative process. It is certainly a very positive way of interaction with society and connoisseurs. I very actively participate in all the social and artistic activities in the Houston and socialize with artists, collectors, gallery directors and artist community of Visual Artists Association of Houston. In my view, artists are the most social animals and always eager to meet people and share with them the aesthetic and wonderful world of art around us.

What’s the best way for someone to check out your work and provide support?
