Check out Nina Ramos’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nina Ramos.

Nina, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I am currently a full-time artist working out of my home studio. Last year I quit the corporate world after 16 years to pursue my passion for art. I’m in the very beginning of my journey and loving every second! Currently, I live in Florida with my handsome fiancé and my adorable dog. I am enjoying living in the south where the people are truly gracious and friendly, the weather is warm, and natural inspiration is so vibrant!

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
My work includes a mixture of abstracted, loose and colorful florals, landscapes, figurative work and portraits. I am a self-taught artist who is constantly learning, pushing the boundaries of my knowledge, and experimenting with different mediums, substrates, art styles and subject matter! The unifying elements to my work are energetic, loose paint strokes and lots of vibrating, lush, juicy color.

I owe my love of composing colorful art to my vibrant Spanish family and upbringing. The women in my family had gorgeous artwork on the walls, richly textured serape blankets on the furniture, and authentic terracotta pottery from Mexico in the kitchen.

I create from natural inspiration in the world around me as well as personal experiences. I hope that when people see my art, it makes them happy and/or takes them back to a place or a moment in time that has personal meaning for them.

How can artists connect with other artists?
For me, creating a community of artists and friends was very important. I like being able to ask friends and colleagues questions, opinions and advice as well as reciprocating and providing support to friends. In the very beginning of my journey I joined art classes and groups that allowed me to interact with other artists around the world and create that community for myself. I am constantly working my network online and also reaching out to local artists to connect over a cup of coffee or to check out a local art show.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
The best place to see and purchase my artwork is by visiting my website, http://www.greenstudioblue.com. To follow along on my art journey and see behind the scenes in my studio as well as my artwork, please follow me on Instagram @greenstudioblue!
