Check out Brandon Hardy

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Hardy.

Brandon, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today.
Originally born in Chicago, IL but I’ve been a Texan for a little over 12 years now. I graduated high school out north (Klein Oak) and obtained my undergrad at UTSA. I always knew I wanted to do something creative in the arts, but I do believe I was scared of what others would say and didn’t like the feeling of being judged. But after much deliberation to myself, I gained the strength to embark on a big dream of mines which was modeling. I began messaging a lot of local photographers here in Houston and worked on building a portfolio I thought was great enough to get agencies to notice me. After a lot of trial and error, I was able to land a contract with Dragonfly agency in Dallas, TX. I’m currently working with a few local Texas brands, but I’m also looking to take my talents and travel worldwide. This is my dream, and I’m not stopping until I’m a household name!

We’d love to hear more about your work. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Currently, my art is modeling, and I love it so much. I think the best part about it is you basically get to bring another person’s vision to life. It’s almost like you help them tell a story and you’re one of the lead roles which at times can be frightening but yet very exciting.

Ever since I was a little kid I dreamed of being an entertainer but I just didn’t know how to truly express myself to get others to believe in me, but now that I’m adult I can finally turn my aspirations and dreams into reality. Modeling is just the first step in Brandon’s world domination (haha jk or am I…)

So to sum it up, I hope when people look at my art they take away that this guy worked hard and believed in his self when no one else did. Now he is working and living his dream on HIS terms, and I wish the same for anyone in any field of work.

Artists face many challenges, but what do you feel is the most pressing among them?
I think the biggest challenge can just be your mind and believing in yourself. Usually, when decide to pursue something in the arts you open the flood gate to a lot of people projecting their own fears on to you which can then make you second guess yourself. But you just have to keep that dream alive and push yourself on your darkest days. Never give up and watch how you can manifest yourself to the many opportunities you’ve dreamed of.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your work?
Currently I post a lot on my Instagram @mrbrandonjustin and I also am up on my agencies website. The link is http://dallas.thedragonflyagency.com/divisions/main-board/portfolios/brandon-hardy
