Check Out DJ Macho’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to DJ Macho.

Hi DJ, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started DJing in 2019 after graduating high school, but a love for music has always been inside of me since my early childhood. However, I don’t think I was able to truly recognize how much of a passion it was for me until after I began learning how to DJ. I have an uncle who DJs and he was willing to show me the ropes in terms of learning the fundamentals of DJing and from there I fell in love with the craft quickly. I ended up attending college at MS State where I was able to really build my brand as a DJ and continue to develop my skills from where I began with my Uncle. I started out DJing house parties several times a week and progressed to clubs and campus events, including working with the school’s athletic/marketing department to DJ for sporting events, and then from there progressing to major concerts and arena settings. While doing all of this I was simultaneously building my brand and network which has allowed me to find continued success in the business of DJing over the past few years. I just recently moved to Houston, TX this past summer from Jackson, MS which is where I’m originally from to continue to expand and build on my DJ career.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road, but sometimes it’s hard for me to say it’s been bumpy because I find beauty in the struggle of everything I’ve endured up to this point. I try to be a humble and positive person at all times because I remember those extreme lows and just as fast as I was able to come up from them, I know that I could just as easily be right back in those same positions. There have been times when I had zero dollars to my name and I literally couldn’t eat because I’ve invested my last into my career and brand, times when people have looked over and disregarded me, and even times when I was battling myself mentally questioning whether or not I was making the right moves to get to where I would like to be. To this day I still deal with some of these struggles, especially with me being relatively new to the city. And while I attribute a large part of my success up to this point to my hard work, I’m fully aware that some of the obstacles I’ve overcome are due to God’s Grace and some of the amazing people around me.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m a DJ/Music Producer that specializes in clubs, concerts and tours. I think I’m known for the genuine personality and energy that I bring to my shows. I pour a lot of emotion and passion into what I do naturally, and I think my audiences can feel and connect with that easily. I’m most proud of the way I’ve not only been able to build a career and brand for myself from the ground up, but also how I’ve been able to touch and inspire others around me and even directly put some people in a position to win. I think what separates me is that even in the biggest moments I still see the bigger picture behind all of this and I’m able to keep my head down and keep working.

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
My genuineness and will to learn. I have a genuine passion for the craft, a genuine love for connecting with people, a genuine desire to be better every day and continue to learn as much as I can and I think it’s the driving force behind a lot of results that the real world sees at show time.
