Check Out Greg Owens’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Greg Owens.

Greg Owens

Hi Greg, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
I’m originally from Columbus, OH. My first introduction to music was at the age of 2. Drumming is my first love. From there, I’ve played at church, school bands, and different genres of music. At 13, I tried my hand in producing and recording my own music. I’m blessed to be doing all of those things full-time.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It’s never a smooth road when being an entertainer. I’ve gotten a lot of nos from major opportunities. Navigating that on top of just life, in general, is not an easy road. It’s a lot of high highs and low lows being a musician, but I wouldn’t trade it for the world. That only motivates me to keep getting better and keep sharpening my craft. I just remember to stay on course and centered throughout the journey.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a Grammy-nominated musician, songwriter, music producer, composer, recording artist, and more. What I’m most proud is that I keep elevating. I’ve accomplished a lot over the years, and it’s so much more I’ve yet to achieve. What sets me apart is that I use my talents as a musician and bring it to the studio. Being able to play multiple genres helps with my creativity. I like making people feel good when they hear my art. The Ohio sound is very present in music as well.

Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
The music industry is in a crisis right now. Normally when that happens, something is bound to change. I actually see the sound of music changing. Ohio will definitely be in the forefront of music. AI will make this much more easier for artist, producers, and the consumers for better or worse. I don’t know what else will change or trend but it’s a great opportunity to try new things, especially with how technology is.
