Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Ordonez.
Hi Jessica, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today.
Hello! My name is Jessica Ordonez I am currently 21 years old. I was born in Houston, Texas but both of my parents are from Guatemala. I grew up with a big passion for singing, and at the age of 3, my parents signed me up to participate in the kids’ Christian church choir. Ever since then, I have not stopped singing, and most importantly as I was growing up, I found myself not only passionate about singing itself but also passionate to share the gospel through the songs I sing and write.
I have always been a songwriter and it has always been a dream to me to be able to record my own song. Last year that dream came to life and I came out with my first single titled ” Anhelo Ese Dia” in March of 2022. Now I am currently working on new music that talks about God’s love and faithfulness and I am so excited to share it this year.
In 2019 I began to post singing videos on YouTube and this is still the platform where I enjoy posting music covers, vlogs, the scenes, podcasts, new music and I am very much active on all my social media platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Facebook. Going from church to church and recording music videos I have come to understand that I do this because I want people to know Jesus, and for everyone to know there is still hope in this world.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There was a time in my life when I didn’t believe in myself, I believed I was not capable of singing or writing songs to record. But when I found my identity in God and found out that God is the main reason why I’m singing that changed everything and it gave me more confidence in music.
I believe life was never meant to be easy and we will all go through struggles, and at the end of the day, the struggles and bumps in life help us get to the other side.

Singer/ Songwriter/you-tuber/worship leader – I believe that my passion to write and sing songs to share God’s love sets me apart from others that are doing music as well.
What I’m most proud of is, accomplishing my dream to record and release music professionally.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My biggest advice would be to find your true identity in God and not be ashamed of the passion you truly love doing even if it looks very different than what everyone else is doing! Also, the biggest key to success is to be consistent in everything you do, so for example, if you want to start your own YouTube channel and gain many subscribers, be consistent! Even if it starts to be kinda bumpy in the beginning keep posting because it will get you to where you want to be one day.
What I wish someone told me when I was a teenager and was starting to create content, is to stop being shy and post more about what I love to do! If I would’ve known that, I would’ve done a lot more things but my shyness stopped me from creating content and music.
