Today we’d like to introduce you to Kamryne Ayers.
Hi Kamryne, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My name is Kamryne Ayers, a natural-born Floridian with high hopes of taking the big city of Houston by storm. I currently attend the Illustrious Texas Southern University as a rising senior, majoring in Radio, Television, and Film with a minor in Journalism. On campus, I have served the students in several capacities. A few student leadership offices I have held include Editor in Chief of the TSU Herald, the Student News Publication (2022-Current), The Media Relations Coordinator for the Student Government Association (2021-2022), A Production Intern for TSU Studios, A KTSU2 News Reporter, Both Vice President & President of HerTxsu a female empowerment organization (2021-2023). Every organization I have involved myself with in my collegiate career so far has motivated me to pursue my more creative projects. The more experience I gain, the more I want to learn about the field of media. As I’ve gotten older and more skilled, I like to call myself a jack of all trades. I’ve had the opportunity to dive into photography, filming, editing, graphic design, producing creative directing, journalism & multi-media marketing–and moving into making my brand more centered around being a creative visionary.
I have always had a passion for the arts, but being a subject in front of the camera or “a pretty face” never satisfied me. I have discovered my creativity has very little bounds, so I thought to myself–why not jump off into the deep end?
I am a very passionate person, and my goals are always corresponding with soaking up as much as I can from everything I experience. Dedication, hard work, and tenacity are principles I continue to strive for on a day-to-day basis. My journey as a creative is new, refreshing, and something I am beginning to devote much of my life towards. Music, art, dancing, and photography are all things that make my world a little brighter, and I plan to pursue that light. All that’s left to do is take it one day at a time through perseverance and a need to strive for greatness.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being a part of the covid class definitely was challenging. Class of 2024 was the first college class to transition through a virtual learning environment, as well as a global pandemic. Not only was it hard to acclimate to my campus, but it was hard to adjust to a post-covid world period. I think discovering myself as well as discovering what I am capable of was a lot harder due to restrictions and covid regulations. However, I still persevered, I attended protests, assisted with my mentor’s documentary, interned with the student government association, and began my journey as a photographer. There were a lot of lessons along the way, but I wouldn’t trade those experiences for anything in the world.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
