Check Out Patrece Wright’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrece Wright.

Hi Patrece, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, my story really started from childhood… I knew as a young girl that I wanted to be in the fashion/beauty world, and at that time, I didn’t really know exactly what I would do. I loved dressing up (myself and others), sketching fashion drawings, doing hair, etc. and once it came time for college, I looked at so many schools that would cater to that. I come from a background of not ‘a lot of money,’ so I remember being anxious and worried about how could I even afford to go to some of these fashion schools. So nonetheless, I went to Houston Community College, received my Associates in Fashion Merchandising and Design, and then I packed my bags and moved to Atlanta, where I thrived in my retail career and received my cosmetology degree. Once I had my son, it all changed… I felt the overwhelming need to do something ‘real’ with my life (on top of having postpartum depression), so I left the retail/fashion/beauty industry, moved back to Houston and took a job in sales. Over the years since then, I’ve felt great dissatisfaction… and only recently, working with my life coach, that it was revealed to me that I had completely neglected who I really am and who I really saw myself as. So here I am, back on the path of fashion and beauty. This time, I am here to stay and serve mamas who need to reclaim their own identities and live their lives authentically and passionately through personal styling.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Oh no, it’s never a smooth road. Lol. Being a single parent and reinventing myself with clarity has been a struggle. Finances went up and down, my time is always stretched, so many hats are being worn, and learning how to parent every day are just a few… I have to keep reminding myself to create balance and don’t get burned out. Plus, not to mention so many things that don’t go your way… I give myself time to grieve from it, then pull it back together with a new plan.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a personal stylist and I specialize in helping mamas reclaim their identities and live their lives authentically and passionately through finding their personal style. I specifically serve mamas because a lot of times, we lose who we are at our core once children are brought into our lives… many of us suffer silently with postpartum depression as I did and have no safe space to grow through it with confidence and style. Style can and will change your life when done correctly, and I am most proud of witnessing it for myself and showing other mamas that they are more than just the title of ‘mama,’ your dreams and aspirations matter too. What sets me apart from other personal stylists is that I am on your team! I am here to help you grow from the inside out, not just the out, hoping that the inside will match.
