Today we’d like to introduce you to Selina Lopez.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my business right before the pandemic hit, which was definitely a whirlwind of emotions. Surprisingly I was still busy through it all so that was definitely a blessing. I couldn’t have done it without the support of my family.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I think we can all agree our lives were turned completely upside down once the pandemic hit. So I knew I was crazy for still wanting to push my business, but I had that much faith in myself. It definitely hasn’t been an easy road, there’s been days/nights of tears and stress but it always ends up being worth it in the end. Owning a small business or a business in general is definitely a lot of learning and growing but it’s been interesting. I think the absolute biggest struggle was figuring out how to balance my family, personal and social life with my small business. I’m still trying to figure it out but it has been a lot easier.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am the person who handles all your party planning and decor needs. When you add a touch of bliss to your event it’s more than just a table set up, backdrop etc. We go above and beyond to make sure each and every event we do is unique in its own way. From customizing decor to fit specifically for your event to making sure everything is set up and ready to go without you having to lift a finger!
This also applies for our picnic set ups as well.
We try to avoid the repeat of decor because to us each event/picnic we do is special and deserves to have its own aesthetic in our book!
Aside from our creative ambiance our most important and valued attribute is customer service. We aim to meet and exceed our client’s expectations.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
My motto: Mind your business, literally. Do not focus on what someone else is doing with their business or compare yourself to others. I’m sure it’s easier said than done but you can’t expect to grow and succeed if you’re constantly worrying about what someone else is doing. You are you and that’s what will always set you apart from someone else. Also, be authentic.
