Check out Travis Weaver’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Travis Weaver.

Travis, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I grew up in Zephyr Texas on a farm with a little of nothing. Proving that the American Dream still exist, I started Manready Mercantile in my apartment in 2012 with $100 and began by making soy candles in whiskey glasses. I sold them to neighbors and at flea markets. The product line expanded in other products that were typically only marketed to women as I made them more unisex. Manready rapidly grew and is now ranked at one of the top 25 stores in world, with a storefront in the Heights with over 250 made in the USA and select high quality International brands. We’re creating jobs and working with the community to develop small business owners into a thriving force in the ever so evolving world.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
At Manready we manufacture a wide product range including beef jerky, tub soaks, candles, leather goods, and even design our own art for tees and ball caps. I make products that are highly useful, marketable, and of the best quality. We’re a little bit of Texas inspired with a little modern day inspiration. Everything that I make or design has a reason and a story behind it. I don’t follow the leader, but rather, pave my own road.

What do you know now that you wished you had learned earlier?
Don’t pay attention to what others are doing and don’t listen to all the ‘advice” that people are giving. Do your own thing and leave the rest behind.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
You can find Manready goods at 321 W 19th St. Suite B, Houston, TX 77008, on Instagram or Facebook @manreadymerc or Manready.com.
