Today we’d like to introduce you to Ray Ballard.
Hi Ray, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Well I moved to Houston in 2006, wanted to get into the entertainment industry here in Houston. So I started connecting with different promoters and different clubs. After a year, I was spending more money than gaining. So I sat down and was like what do I really like doing. So cleaning came to mind because I really enjoy cleaning. So in 2015, I started Essential Cleaning Service. It’s is very rewarding when I can bring peoples home or business back from the dead. Cause to me your home or business items all have a set place for things. So when I go to people’s home or business, I see myself straightened up.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s really been has a smooth ride because I really having had too many struggles but this business has its ups and downs. Because some months we might not get any bookings but then the next month we are overwhelmed with bookings. But that comes with running a business.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We specialize in professional cleaning services. We come and get your home or business cleaned on time and right the first time. We are known for getting it right and having great customer service. I’m most proud of being able to own my business because growing up in the streets of Philadelphia PA it was a struggle to make odds meet. What sets me apart from others is when customers find out there is a man coming to clean their home they like we never seen a man that loves to clean. And I tell them it is very therapeutic to me.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
Well, it has been a risk-taking at first the name of my company was Embacy Cleaning Service, someone I grew up with started a cleaning company in Philadelphia throughout the years of me running the business he saw my page getting a lot of attention and he went and Trademark the name so I had to change my company name to Essential Cleaning Service it was a risk because all these years I was doing business with that name and everyone knew of my name by that name. So it was scary to change name because I didn’t think anyone would call. Because of my work ethic changing the name has been a blessing. Customers flock to my services.
