Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah De La Rosa.
Sarah, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
For me photography came into my life when I was fourteen years old. I would walk around my neighborhood after school and take all kinds of photographs. Photographs of trees, stop lights, faces of people, the way the sun would shine through the fence on a hot summer day. I laugh at those photos now because I really didn’t even know what I was doing with the camera tech wise, but that’s how everything great starts. At that age I was exploring many interests but photography was the interest I chose to carry with me and make a career out of.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I photograph people, places, feelings and memories. Particularly, I create photographs of people in love, unique editorials of models and portraits of the beauty in ordinary people. Every time I create a photograph my goal in mind is to evoke some kind of emotion out of the viewer. When you go to the movies the lights cut out and suddenly after an hour of gazing at the screen you’ve realized you’ve been sucked in. My goal with my photographs is to try to take you to a place. Maybe it’s a place you’ve never been before or a place that’s all too familiar. I want the viewer to feel like they’re there. That they have experienced whatever is going on in the photograph.
