Check out Sarah Hobson’s Artwork

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Hobson.

Sarah, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
I’ve been photographing people, places, and things, for more than a decade.

I started snapping photos with my older brother in downtown Houston when I was in high school. We’d walk around the city streets capturing the towering buildings around us. I was instantly hooked.

Since then, I’ve worked as a photographer for Pine Cove summer camps, Baylor University, and have freelanced for the past 8 or so years. I capture portraits, products, food, cocktails, landscapes, and more. I’ve explored every avenue my craft can take me, including weddings, newborns, and fine art.

We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
I capture photographs. Taking snapshots is how I experience things, and I get the privilege of bringing all of my memories with me wherever I go. I am inspired by all of the little moments taking place around me.

Photography teaches us to pay attention to our surroundings: the light, people’s expressions, the way the trees create a perfect natural frame, and most importantly—what makes people smile.

I work with a Canon DSLR camera and try to bring it with me whenever I can in case I find something I’d like to capture. I hope my work inspires others to laugh, to find beauty in everyday life, and to notice the details in their surroundings.

What do you think it takes to be successful as an artist?
Success as an artist comes from the joy you feel when creating your work. It doesn’t matter how many jobs you land or how many followers you have. It boils down to whether you love what you’re making.

Pride in your own product is essential into making it as a creative.

Do you have any events or exhibitions coming up? Where would one go to see more of your work? How can people support you and your artwork?
People can find my work on my website, sarahhobsonphoto.com, and on my Instagram, @sarahlouiseba. My website has samples of my professional work while my Instagram showcases photos from everyday life.

People can support my art by following me or hiring me! I also run a side company that I’ve been working to build the past few months called Turbo Prints (@turbo_prints), where I create custom photo prints available to purchase for home decor.
