Today we’d like to introduce you to Andre Notice.
Hi Andre, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
As I was in college in 2004, my mother ran her own company as a mortgage broker. My stepdad worked with her and thought it would make sense for me to get my real estate license and begin working their deals and forge a family real estate business. We did just that, but after a few years and a few sales, the market crashed, leaving me to make a decision, continue learning real estate, or try my hand at getting a job. My mentor at the time offered me to work 8-5 in his home office. I didn’t like that idea, so I left the real estate industry. I worked multiple jobs over the next few years until I just couldn’t take employment any longer.
In 2012, I drained my 401k and stepped out on faith to pursue real estate full time. The first three years were extremely rough, but I stuck with it and never gave up. Soon, I was able to support myself as a full-time entrepreneur and others were taking notice of my success and consistency. I then made it a point to start taking initiatives to create platforms to assist others in understanding the home buying process. I began hosting home buying seminars, speaking on podcasts, doing videos, and just informing the public as to my knowledge. Then, I started getting referred by others to mentor young men or youth in general, as well as opportunities to speak on various platforms on different topics. Before long, I started winning local awards as a community activist, influencer, and even real estate production. I decided to mentor and cultivate other realtors who were new to the industry or looking to increase production. Knowing how important branding is and realizing I’m also a poet, I thought it would make sense to brand myself something unique and began to market myself as the “Rhyming realtor” and was surprised to see how others responded to that.
February 2021, I finally started to write the book that God gave me six years ago and by October, it was complete and published. On Nov. 6th, 2021, I launched the book and also my purpose coaching business, so I can help others find their purpose and reach their full potential. I was fortunate and excited to have new clients for my new business that day, as I sold well over 200 books between presell and the launch. My author coach awarded me with “Top media award” for being on the most media platforms, as a result of being a new author, as well as an award for earning over $1000 in sales in a calendar month. From the time I was homeless to now, I’ve been blessed enough to win 10 local awards for my entrepreneurial journey, I’ve purchased four cars (including my dream car, Tesla), spoke on countless platforms, rebuilt my credit to over 700 and assisted many families in buying or selling their home. Lately, life has been good and I’m excited to say I’m JUST getting started. By the Grace of God, I’ve changed my life, so now it’s time to help others change their’s.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
To get where I am was no smooth road. I didn’t just hit speed bumps…I hit puddles, potholes, stop signs, had to endure many delays, and even had to take countless detours. For instance, shortly after I decided to go full-time in real estate, I lost my alternate stream of income in selling cars after my business partner died. After that, my bills doubled when my roommate moved out, causing me to get evicted. I was then forced to move into a hotel. Throughout the next few years, I sold many of my possessions including my TV and Playstation to pay bills and keep my phone on to continue working in real estate. I left the hotel and moved in with a friend. Shortly after, my car was repoed right after getting into an accident and not being able to pay the deductible. I then had to ride a bike to the grocery store to get groceries if I couldn’t get a ride. When that friend kicked me out, I moved in with another, and then another. This last friend had a one bedtime apartment that I lived in with five adults and a child for over a year and no car for most of that time. When she kicked me out, I moved in with my dad and slept on his couch for six months until his patience ran out, so one week after my 30th birthday, he handed me a subpoena to be out. From there, I spent the next three months sleeping in my car (I just got a year prior). I had all of my possessions in my back seat, covered with two black jackets, so people couldn’t see them. I showed and sold homes when I had no home to go to myself. I would park in a hotel driveway, wake up and brush my teeth, take a shower at 24-hour fitness and work all day at Starbucks, Panera bread, or a shared office space. As this was going on, I continued to go to the gym, church and hang out with friends like nothing ever happened and no one knew my situation. The total time I slept in my car was three months until I had enough money and consistency in my business to get another place, in which I lived for three years. The total time I was homeless and staying with others or my car was three years.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am THE realtor for your dream home when you need to buy or sell
I’m THE life coach for those that feel like they’re going thru hell.
I’m THE speaker here to motivate, encourage and inspire
I’m a poet as well, grab the mic to spit bars of fire
The book that I wrote is changing lives as well
A servant is what I am, on a mission to serve, not sell
When it’s all said and done, I help others reach their full potential
By helping them find their purpose, to find true joy, it is essential.
Andre Notice is my name an inspiration is who I be
Its true, I live to give and YOU WILL NOTICE ME
I help people that feel stuck, frustrated, unhappy, unfulfilled, undecided get unstuck, pinpoint their passion and purpose and prepare themselves for profit
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Absolutely! During my “drought season” of just barely making it, I made it a point to keep filling myself with personal development. I spent countless hours on YouTube listening to inspirational videos, interviews and podcasts. I would listen to motivational speakers like Jim Rohn, Les Brown, Tony Robbins, Zig Ziglar, Bob Proctor, Eric Thomas, Myles Munroe, John Maxwell and others. I would ingest their content daily and often which helped shape my mind and keep me motivated and inspired.
Some of the books I’ve read are, Outwhitting the Devil Think and grow rich both by Napoleon Hill, Richest Man in Babylon by George Clason, Power of positive thinking by Norman Vincent Peale, Power of the subconscious mind by Joseph Murphy, the Bible, and10x by Grant Cardone, among others. These books have helped shape my mind and given me direction for where I want to go.
