Today we’d like to introduce you to Jodie Scott.
Hi Jodie, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
As a child, growing up in a musically inclined family, music has always been a part of my life. At the age of nine, my mother enrolled me in piano lessons, it was then when I recognized my gift. I can remember her taking me back and forth to my weekly piano lessons and recitals supporting the gift she saw within me. As I grew into my teenage years, music lessons became too expensive, therefore, I began to teach myself.
Then I started playing the piano for my grandmother’s church and studying other musicians within the gospel music community. As I discover this passion for music throughout the years, I began to produce music. My first self-built studio was right in my childhood home storage room, where obtain my first client. It was at that moment, I realized an idea was discovered. So, I started to produce music for my family, then they allowed other people to hear what I produced, and then I began to produce for other people.
It projected into a business, where I then began to hire musicians as work for hire to play bass, guitar, drums, and horns on the tracks I produced. This lead to Musixbox Entertainment LLC which was established in 2018 as a music company for music production and a live band. After working in the music industry with other great talents I started Musixbox Band, a variety band that performs at private events, corporate events, weddings, concerts, birthday parties, in-studio sessions, and much more.
MusixBox Band is not only a live performance band, but is an artist who has recordings; Funky Genius, We’re Done and our latest song, which includes a music video, titled Love Games.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The most challenge along the way was just believing in myself, that this idea of being an entrepreneur of your own music business would be successful.
No one wants to fail, and as an idealist, most of my work for my business is created through my vision. So undertaking projects and thinking the worst was my method of operating. Until I took on a project that was bigger than expected and successfully managed the project.
So believing in myself was the challenge until I proved to myself that this could be done.

Musixbox Entertainment LLC is a music company founded by Jodie Scott in 2018 who provides music production and a live band (Musixbox Band). We are a small business that provides professional music entertainment services to our clients. We specialize in Jazz, RnB, Rock, Gospel, Country, Afro-Beats, Neo-Soul, and Funk through music production and performance.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
In the next five to ten years, there will be a Musixbox Band Atlanta, Musixbox Band Los Angeles, Musixbox Band New York, and Musixbox Band Miami. Our goal is to create this industry all over America offering professional music services through music production and performance.
