Today we’d like to introduce you to Mariah Clark.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
While growing up out of all the things that I was able to do and have the freedom of doing was experimenting with my hair. I was able to try and wear any hair color, shave my head, have designs, weaves, braids and etc. That allowed me to have some true self-expression and I realized very quickly that hair is something that excites me and allows me to express myself. Throughout high school I went through different phases of hair styles and colors and I’d always get asked the questions “who does your hair color?” or “where do you get your hair from?” It had come to the ending of my senior year and the start of my freshmen year of college where one day I woke up and said you know what I want to start my own hair line. I want people to wear and buy my brand. December 31, 2017 I brought to life Boomin Hair.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The most struggling thing that I had to face were that there’s a ton of people just like me selling hair or wanting their hair brand to be the next brand on top. Trying to get people to view my brand in the way I view it, to draw more sales, stand out with promotion or just not being overlooked. That was a very hard thing to overcome figuring out how to stand out.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a Business owner who’s running a hair line and I am also a Lash Tech. I’m most proud of how far I’ve came from where I started and what’s next best in store. What’s set me apart from others is that I’m my true complete self, I enjoy and love what I do and pour myself into. Every day I better myself to better my crafts. I’m professional in my businesses and I truly want to make my customers happy.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Houston has some very diverse food options and places. I really enjoy that about Houston. Being able to eat different varieties of food, exploring downtown that whole vibe you get while being downtown it’s a great feel.
