Nicole Gosserand, also known as Yetundei, is a multi-talented woman with a passion for a holistic plant-based lifestyle. Born and raised in Metairie, Louisiana, she currently resides in Houston, Texas with her family. Yetundei started Set Ayat House during the pandemic, a business that specializes in healing eczema, dry skin, and aging using natural products. The inspiration for Set Ayat House came from Yetundei’s personal experience of healing her daughter’s eczema with natural plant-based ingredients.
The name “Set Ayat” means “grandmother,” which is an appropriate name for the business because the role of grandmothers is to heal their family and community. Yetundei takes pride in this role, as she is also a proud grandmother to her granddaughter, Makhia. Set Ayat House showcases Yetundei’s values in the choice of ingredients that go into her bath & body products.
Her business serves two customer segments that fall along the lines of a multi-side platform. On one side are customers that have imbalanced skin, and on the other side are spiritual and in-tune customers that love holistic plant-based bath & body products.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Has it been a smooth road? Yes and no. I firmly believe that we are where we are supposed to be at that time and space.
Creating products has been the smooth part. However, the back-office tasks and learning the business side, as well as navigating social media, have not been easy. Stepping out of my shell and public speaking still make me cringe, but all in all, the positive response to my creations, which heal skin, hair, and scalp, has been worth it.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I think the skincare industry will continue to push for holistic and health-conscious customized approaches to bath and body products, with an increased emphasis on sustainability and community.
