Thanks for sharing your story with us Nini. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
Growing up, I have always had a love for fashion and beauty because of my dad. My father had dreams of becoming a fashion designer, but things changed for him along the way. As soon as my sister and I were born, my dad was excited to style us already. My dad always did our hair and dressed us up in all kinds of styles for school. My parents always made us feel so confident in ourselves and always guide us into strong and independent women. My dad taught us to be able to get out of our comfort zones and to follow our goals/dreams. NVOUEX(N-VO) was one of those uncomfortable zones I had to conquer. I was nervous starting my own business and I didn’t know where to start. My boyfriend actually pushed me and put so much support into helping me start. NVOEUX then became a part of my life and the 18 year-old me would’ve never thought I would be owning a business.
Believe it or not NVOUEX came from a dream. Do you know when you have those dreams that be feeling soo real? It was one of those dreams. I went with my gut feeling and turned that dream into reality. I wanted everyone to feel powerful and unstoppable as soon as they put on my products. My first drop were lashes. If you know me, you’ll always see me with a pair of lashes on. Lashes are a necessity in my routine and I would always struggle to find the perfect lashes for my eye-shaped. I wanted to bring a little bit of my personality into my brand and that had to start with lashes. Now I have a collection that’s out. My handbag’s details and interior are handmade and hand sewn. The sunglasses’s logos are handmade as well. It took months to perfect and work on my collection. It’s so unbelievable to me that I am able to have brought my visions to life and for all the support I’ve gotten already.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Of course, it was not a smooth road. If it was a smooth road, I wouldn’t have learn so much. I was such a perfectionist so I definitely wrestle with doubts and I started to question my decisions. All the fears kept pushing me backward and it made me hesitate to drop my products. I can’t thank God enough for putting genuine people around me who have pushed me and supported me. It kept me going.
My advice to anyone going into any journey is to not do it alone: have a good support system! I will forever be grateful for all my family, friends, and love ones for the support and give me the push I needed. They will keep you accountable and will be your backbone. Another tip I would give is to not be afraid of failure. Failure is an uncomfortable stage but it keeps you on your feet. Failure plays a major part in success because that is where you will learn and grow. There’s always a “what if” in hesitation. You have to remember that if you don’t do it, you won’t know if you’ll fail or not. Failure will teach and show you what to do and what not to do. This will help you conquer future obstacles with a stronger mindset. So don’t be afraid to fail. If you use that wisdom, you will be unstoppable!
What should we know about NVOEUX? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
NVOEUX pronounced “N-Vo” have a meaning behind it. The “N” is for my initial and “VOEUX” stand for wishes. I wanted to make all of my dreams/wishes into reality so I created the name NVOEUX. I wanted to make products that just enhance everyone’s beautiful features. When people feel beautiful, they will feel powerful. When you feel powerful, you will let nothing get in your way of turning those “wishes” into reality. That’s the feeling I want everyone to have when they have on my products. I am proud of all the details I put into my products. I like to make all my customers feel as if the products are personalized just for them. Words couldn’t explained how grateful I am till this very day. It was all in God’s name!
Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
Well I already spoke a lot of my dad, but my grandma and mom really inspired me throughout my entire life as well.They were such strong and independent women. They taught me that being a women will never make you any less of a person you were born to be.
