Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Williams Simon.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
The journey as a Childcare Owner/Director started at a very young age of 23yrs old. Very little education, determination and tons of God Favor! My background as a child was not an easy journey with residing with different family members struggling to find my place to fit in, many dysfunctional home settings, molestation, loss of a mother at 19yrs old, having to now mother two younger siblings, a teen mother myself at age of 17yrs, lost a sibling to suicide a few years after our mother death having to adopt her son as our own and a father wrongfully convicted in which he served 21 yrs. before he was released with the assistance of the Innocence Project directed by Anthony S. Haughton and TSU Law Students. Through all these mishaps I can honestly say that it was the very thing that always pushed me internally to want more, give more, and do more for EVERYONE God lead my way, especially children of all ages. In life when we experience things I’ve learned it’s not for ourselves but to be a vessel to reach out and assist others, allowing them to know that no matter what if we live to get up another day, there are many more chances to elevate in life. I was inspired after working in other childcare settings that I truly had a huge passion for children, teens and people in general.
Annointed Christian Childcare was founded in 1999 offering preschool programs, afterschool and mentoring At Risk Students in Galena Park ISD. I understand how vital it is to provide the students with education, self-esteem, and what it feels like to know that someone cares. As any business there were challenges becoming a business owner at such a young age with absolutely no mentorship. As I look back today, it was a blessing to have to learn through trial and error because it made me that much more knowledgeable to help the many others that have come along the way needing guidance in the childcare field before operating a licensed facility. This concept inspired my then husband and myself to open a second location in hopes to reach even more families within our community.
Annointed Christian Childcare II was later opened February 2014 along with establishing a 501 c3 Non-Profit Organization, ” People Matters Today ” that has a great purpose. People Matters Today is an umbrella for many youth sports programs including Track, Football, Cheer, and Basketball serving children between the ages 4yrs- 13yrs old and a catalyst in keeping the youth in our community off the streets and on the field, gym or track, promoting good sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, accountability, dedication in a fun and positive environment. It’s nothing more fulfilling than taking my own mistakes to now use them to redirect others instead of walking in shame or disappointment, because all of these things truly laid the foundation of strength it has taken to be successful in life.

Childcare Director/Owner of two Licensed Childcare Facilities for 22yrs. I’m most proud of the many families that I have gained whether it was childcare services, between employees, or any other form of meeting through the daycares.
I’m known for being a positive impact in any room that I walk in to, in hopes of inspiring others to stay in the race of life.
My proudest moments is becoming a mother three times to my wonderful children and a Grandmother of three This has been a challenging, yet rewarding gift in every way imaginable to allow them to see their mother’s struggles, failures, and disappointments transform into something beautiful & powerful today for the sake of each of them to be successful in Life..
I also own and operate a Successful Tax Preparation Office for 13 yrs. which offers Free Filing for Seniors and Students within the community. Real Fast Income Tax & Services.
