Hi Natasha, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
The passion was always there. However, my desire to achieve my education goals superseded my passion. After two business degrees, a budding career in insurance, a new marriage, and a baby on the way, my husband encouraged and backed me to step out of corporate America and live a full life behind the chair!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road! Managing my business has come with its ups and downs, and even with an MBA, I didn’t and still don’t always get it right. Unfortunately, this industry has often time has been looked at as a “hustle” or “side job,” so as I’ve introduced a very strict business model via prompt appointments, a professional and luxe environment, and private salon experience, many have not been fond of the policies that come along with maintaining my brand. However, I am a firm believer that there is a stylist and salon for everyone, so it’s been important for me to “find my tribe.”
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
More than a hair artist, I am a visionary and a do-er. From my days as a shampoo technician in a Richmond salon to building my own brand, I am living proof of what is possible with hard work and relentless determination.
If you’ve been in my chair, then you know I take pride in my work and make it my business to help my clients feel and become the most beautiful versions of themselves. I’ve been often coined as “your favorite hair stylist’s inspiration,” whether or not they know it.
I have been rooted in Natural Hair Care and Maintenance for over 13 years and haven’t lost my touch. Whatever your hair’s length, condition, or texture – kinky, curly, wavy, straight, or even relaxed you can trust that your tresses are in excellent hands.
I strive to provide you with an all-around beauty experience, both inside and out. I am passionate about my craft, so I continue training and education to master the latest techniques in all my services to give you the perfect look to suit your individuality.
I care most about the longevity of a client having healthy hair. I also believe in the importance of maintaining professionalism, proper scheduling, and consistency in a high-end organic product line.
Upon entrance, expect a warm, relaxed, and refined setting. The vibe flowing throughout the salon space is perfectly accented by calming natural elements, cool earthen tones, and lush green plants.
My private, relaxed, yet sophisticated atmosphere merges seamlessly with my open outlook to offer the perfect experience that transcends into your everyday life.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
You may not know that I was originally an Architecture Major and an Interior Design Minor before changing to a Business Major! It’s pretty funny because everyone comments on my salon suite space, and I am constantly getting design questions and requests to help design and decorate their spaces and homes.
