I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Yes, it has been smooth because the road less traveled has no potholes. That in itself though is a challenge, it comes with loneliness and the doubt of others. Motives were questioned and some couldn’t understand why I chose this route. I stayed on it though, in hopes that the people coming behind me are made aware that they don’t have to follow in anyone’s footsteps. You can forge your own. You are your biggest obstacle! Your insecurities will stop you before your enemies! Make yourself home and do what you are created to do. And pray your way through it.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a spoken word poet, author, mother, believer, and in some ways an activist. I use both my poetry and my words period to stimulate people mentally and emotionally in hopes that once our interaction is complete they can take something positive from it! I’m only thirty so I haven’t fully tapped into the potential of what that could become, and I sometimes overstep because I have always believed that everyone loves love and would love to receive it. The truth is though, you gotta give people space in love too. Lessons that I still have to learn but I will be learning for the rest of my life so I’m okay with it! I honestly do believe that that portion of me in a sense sets me apart. The ability to remain teachable! Regardless of how far I go or how much THE WORLD STATES that I have reached success my heart and head will always be receptive to a lesson.
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
Most people find it surprising that me and my Husband have seven kids. But it’s true! This body carried six and was blessed with one that I don’t have to shed blood for. Which in itself is a major blessing. But yeah and you bet not touch them! 😂
