Today we’d like to introduce you to Sushana Cole.
Hi Sushana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my business from being at the lowest point in my life, I went to Jamaica because I was in trouble with the law… I was so broke that I called a friend and explained to them that I was broke and he said I can help by sending you some makeup items to sell so I can at least buy food for me and my SON.… He sent them and I went to all the corporate offices I knew to get them sold, because corporate workers wear makeup, it’s a thing… I sold them all. Rebought more makeup and I’ve been in business ever since 2011… I pivoted in 2014 and started my own makeup line. In 2018 I decided to take care of my legal issues, came back to the states pivoted again got into health and wellness, coaching, etc, and built a million-dollar empire in 2 plus years. I would say I started my business off survival and now it’s thriving mode… I’m super passionate about every business I touch… my goal is to help others not make the mistakes I made and make their business journey a little less stressful by creating the blueprint.…
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it definitely wasn’t smooth at all. My store in Jamaica got robbed twice…in the beginning months would go by without a sale so that means I had to pay overheads out of pocket, banks wouldn’t give me credit card machines or loans because I was new. People not believing in me (big shout out to the people who did) … we will face obstacles but it’s how we react to them is what makes or breaks us… I never let any obstacle get in my way, I keep a tunnel vision, know that everything happens for a reason and keep pushing….
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a serial entrepreneur. I have a makeup line, clothing boutique, I host seminars helping females grow and scale businesses and I literally transform brains showing queens that health is important, self-development is important and knowing how to properly run a business is important so those are my specialties lol a lot, right? … I’m also an author…I do have a lot on my plate but I’m really known for being the makeup girl…When I started my own line of cosmetics in jamaica it was rare, not a lot of people were doing that so it left people to want to know who I was, etc…
What sets me apart is that I’m unique in my own way, I do things differently, I operate differently…I stay humble, I help everyone, I lead with pure love, I do what is right and I stay consistent… I am the example!
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Consistency creativity
Authenticity
Discipline
Commitment to always learning
Treating people how I want to be treated
Giving EVERYTHING, I do my all
