Conversations with Taylor Luna

Today we’d like to introduce you to Taylor Luna.

Hi Taylor, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I’ve been doing art my whole life. I went to Lovett Elementary, Johnston middle school, then HSPVA; But over the last year, it feels like so much has happened. I feel like my story just keeps adding unto the inspiration that flows into my artwork. It’s Awesome! I’ve always been about art and always felt it has been a huge part of me no matter where I go that perspective never changes. I’m always gonna be an artist at heart. My whole life story can just be summed down to just perspective honestly.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road is never smooth. You have to smooth it out yourself if you wanna get to where you want in life. I went through rough patches of losing family members or losing inspiration but we always pushed through no matter what. My road had major potholes but even potholes get fixed over time.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in UV Paint including Acrylics and spray paints. I love to make psychedelic art for when I trip. I also love self reflection. I feel like when I self reflect and create daily self portraits. It’s almost like a journal entree. I feel like the importance of knowing who you are and learning to love who you are is what makes you appreciate your art. Your art is literally a part of who you are as a person. Finally coming to that realization through my art is what I’m most proud of, it took time and it was worth it. Every second.

How do you think about happiness?
What truly makes me happy is my passion for my art. The thought of making it through my art and being able to take my Mom and my Sister on family trips is what makes me wake up everyday. That dream is what makes me happy and I won’t stop until I achieve it. That’s what success to me looks like. Success= Happiness
