Daily Inspiration: Meet Alisa Williams

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alisa Williams

Hi Alisa, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Of course, easily I can share where I started and how I got to where I am. I started my walk very early in age where I became committed to change. I have had to always overcome small challenges as a child as well into developing in adolescents. Bigger challenges that I face every day now, I accept them as they are and face them head on. I began to understand how life worked in my early 20’s and enjoyed the ride for all that it offered. So… lol I’ve had some FUN! I ALWAYS understood the values of responsibility, hard work, and commitment. The true things that matter, you know? Honestly, I am in this space and place now at 30 because I never gave up. I kept it cute and real. I exist to help the people! My people. When everyone else was doing them I started to value the word sacrifice. I begin to see every challenge and obstacle as what they are fear barriers. Life isn’t Social Media picture perfect by any means. Life is rough sometimes. It can be low, selfish, and stubborn. No one wants to talk about that. So I’m teaching that its ok be happy throughout those low points… even when you’re a survivor. True passion is encouragement.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I believe struggling is another form of saying “I made the wrong decision or I was taken advantage of and I am now choosing to love through it.” Don’t get me wrong hardship happens to us all. Every color! Every Man, Woman, and Beast! No my road has not been smoothing I can easily talk about how I survived through poverty. How I was one of the 1st women to graduate from college in my family. How I survived jealousy, suicidal ideation, physically abusive in all types of relationships etc. I’d rather explain how not to choose to stay in those situations. I’d rather partner with teachers of generational wealth building. I’d rather encourage young men and women to understand and follow their true calling. Regardless of my story I’m here to teach!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in working with at risk youth in at risk communities. I’m currently exploring educational partnerships for my newly created Young Adult Rights of Passage program entitled the 29:11 Club. One thing I can say I’m most proud of is The Publication of My Book of Poetry Entitled My Vision Through Your Eyes! It makes me always remember that when I’m creating or producing something that it’s My Vision. It’s my 1st book my baby! What sets me apart from others? I create content. I produce products. I redevelop communities. I’m different, big different and I like it. ALOT!

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Honestly, I would answer this question by saying read ALL you can. Reading is fundamental! You always have to read things. One book that I’m currently reading is Financial Lovemaking 101: Merging Assets With Your Partner in Ways That Feel Good Book by Dr. Boyce Watkins. Please don’t marry a financial fool. Anyways! Lol “I use the internet! I don’t let the internet use me!” Yes, I enjoy timeline scrolling and enjoy a great meme, but I use my time wisely in doing so. You can learn so much just by reading a new word every day! You could find out what the weather is in another country. You could literally write a business plan from your phone on the internet right now. Lol and you’re asking me what helps me do my best in life! Reading! Duh Lol! Reading is Fundamental! And cleaning your spirit, heart, and mind daily. That helps me be become my best self-every day as well.
