Hi Ciara, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a Jersey girl forever and always most people call me “CEE” – On Camera Host, Commercial Spokeswoman, Radio personality, Philanthropist, Billboard Fashion Model & Creator of Tenacitymodels; A Tenacious Sorority which we collectively focus on motivating, educating young ladies through mentorship & fashion. I’ve had the pleasure to experience so many different unique opportunities just by being tenacious. Its been a journey from attending The BET Awards to the Grammys, presenting at awards shows, Speaking engagements for fortune 500 companies like United Airlines Not only- but also invited as guest speaker for career day at local high schools. In addition to leading celebrity Press Conferences. This girl is booked and busy.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Nope! The most challenging part for me during this whole process finding selfless people; a team as serious as I am about making everyone’s dreams come true, not just their own personal growth. My journey began in the two cities that never sleep New Jersey & New York City. The true concrete Jungle where there’s beautiful lights, loud subways stations with cultivating energy filled matched with creative notions. Nothing could ever possibly prepare me for the Entertainment Business. One day while sitting at work, I picked up a hair magazine and said I would like to be apart of this “Hey I’m Cute, I can do this too,” but how? After attending a few casting calls the rest is history. What an adventure this has been! This takes a lot of work and true tenacity you have to remain focus. As a woman in this industry, which is mostly run by men, you must stand your ground or will get ran over. Respect is a must! There’s not too many women who truly stick together. Regardless of what you see on Social media, stay true to yourself. You don’t have to be naked to achieve in this business. You can do it without selling cheeks. I’ve made it very clear I will never sleep with anyone to achieve my goals. I need to be able look myself in the mirror proudly. However, everyone is different. The obstacles continue daily, especially now with the pandemic just another pivot; there’s never a dull moment in this business. Sometimes it becomes difficult to keep up, and your circle will change so unexpectedly. Actress Ms. Kim Hawthone (From OWN Greenleaf) said to me, “You have to be comfortable being uncomfortable”… That’s a tough thing to do. Most people want stability; however this business is very unstable. I’m proud of myself looking back to where I began to now. Energy is real and people will try and play you; You must protect your peace! When one door closes, another will open just follow your journey. Never forget where you started and why! Sometimes It doesn’t dawn on me my success until my inner voice goes Girl Your Dope! Do you realize all the amazing leaders who have embraced your presence and have directly spoken positivity into your life, – Shoot I’m honored they even know my name LOL – From American Novelist Ms. Alice Walker, Life Coach Ms. Iyanla Vanzant, Singer Jill Scott, American political strategist Donna Brazile, Star Jones, Jayne Kennedy television actress, Cynthia Marshall CEO Dallas Mavericks, Former CEO Essence Magazine Susan Tylor, Mr. Pat Riley President of the Miami Heat, Actor Bill Duke , Mr.Glen Consor NBA Analyst Washington Wizards, Comedian Ms.Monique brought me to tears with her words of encouragement. I’d like to truly thank all the people who believe in me and has helped me to achieve to this point. I truly believe what sets me apart from others, is my Tenacity. I know who I am and what I stand for; I refuse to alter my identity and/or authenticity. It’s okay to say Thanks but no thanks. Everything is not for everybody. I’m not afraid of my journey; I embrace it and appreciate it. I know there’s more to come.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
Well after booking the top fashion shows and expos in Jersey/NYC area; which granted me the opportunity to become featured on Times Square New York City Billboards. Vibe Magazine publication, TV guest appearances on The Dr.Oz Show, Good Day America; Here and Now ABC7, Participation in Old Navy, Dove loves your skin & JCPenney campaigns. Fast forward my transition into media, which is a completely different avenue . I’ve moderated press conferences for Master P, Tiny Harris and Monique. While Interviewing countless celebrities has been amazing I’ve learned so much during those experiences. These moments truly let me know I’m headed in the right direction. As Correspondent, I’ve spoken with some of the biggest names in entertainment & the fashion industry such as Creator of TvOne network Ms.Cathy Hughs, Comedians Kim fields, Joe Tory, Lunell, Legendary Hall of fame recipients Band Kool & The Gang, Ice T, R&B group 112, Freddy Jackson, Mogul Master P, Tiny Harris, Romeo Miller, Ralph McDaniels (Video music box creator), Faith Evans, Carl Thomas, Du it All Lords of underground, etc. I even had the pleasure to meet The King of Pop Father Mr. Joe Jackson before he pass. I love the Conversation! I’ve also worked with several radio shows co-hosting, including “The Quiet Storm” with Lenny Green on WBLS FM NYC & “The Reality Check” Doctor with Celebrity Relationship Expert Dr. Ivan Young, as well as Digital radio 953jamz.com here in Houston. Followed by Creating my own show, Conscious Conversations. The grind is real!
My focus to date is Tenacitymodels – We’re currently building a team of professional ladies to assist here in Houston. I am most proud of Tenacitymodels growth; I am honored to have the trust of these young ladies who have chosen to seek mentorship. These ladies want to be guided down the right path in life I’m truly honored we can assist.. What do you like and dislike about the city?
I’m definitely digging the Texas weather! There’s also lots of talented people here in Houston for example, Fashion Designers: Ms. Kameereo Crip & Crown Creator Ms. Lashonda Williams – Photographer Mr. Damon Edwards of Bads Photography – MUA Miracles Ms. Diestancia Fobb, – Scarletts Ave stylist Ms. Nina Tull – Recording Artist Mr. Cap. All have been a pleasure to work with and are truly phenomenal in their craftsmanship. Furthermore I truly recommend them for all your creative needs.
What I am least fond of…. this Houston traffic lol, everything takes 40mins or more. Secondly, to be the fourth populous city in the nation, it seems to be very cliquish; during random conversations, I’ve found people in Houston do not support each other as much as they should, which is very unfortunate consequently; You cant achieve greatness alone, you need solid people. In this case my opinion if your city doesn’t show you support move around. Nurture your gift & live on purpose.
