Daily Inspiration: Meet Kelly Broesche

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelly Broesche.

Hi Kelly, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started KB Design HTX as a hobby, something to keep myself busy since my children had grown. On a whim three years ago I decided to sell my jewelry at a small holiday market at our church, Ecclesia. I made a bunch of earrings and was pleasantly surprised that I sold out! My little business was born- little did I know my “hobby” would become a thriving business! The earring styles that I sold at that first market are still some of my best sellers!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I didn’t take any business classes in college, so I have learned everything by experiencing it on my own (I think they call that the school of hard knocks!). Thankfully I have had pretty good instincts and a positive attitude, so any mistakes I have made I use as learning experiences rather than stumbling blocks. I’m also surrounded by wise people who are willing to give me advice when I need it!

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I love simple yet elegant design, so I create jewelry that is fun to wear and easy to live in. I am best known for my Eterna Bracelet, a permanent bracelet that’s welded on your wrist with no clasp. I started welding the Eterna bracelet because I thought a permanent bracelet sounded fun, but it’s literally taken on a life of its own! Most of my clientele are groups of friends, sisters, moms and daughters, husbands and wives, significant others… all coming to get permanent bracelets together. The Eterna bracelet has become more than just a piece of jewelry- it’s the ultimate friendship bracelet, a physical representation of a loving bond, a way to show someone she is loved. My business plan is to bring joy, so I’m very proud of the joy the Eterna bracelet brings to those who wear one. Although I have an exclusive selection of 14k gold chains and diamond and gemstone charms, I think it’s my personal touch that sets me apart from others.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
Work wise, I follow and take workshops with other jewelers to continue to hone my skills. I have found the digital courses with All You Need Method incredibly helpful to learn PR for my small business. I couldn’t live without Shopify for running my business; Lightroom for editing photos.

I love Sharon Says So on Instagram and listen to her podcasts on my daily walks/runs with my dog Shipley. I had no idea I could learn so much at my age! Smartless with Jason Bateman, Will Arnett and Sean Hayes is another favorite. I can also be found listening to pretty much any true crime podcast!
