Today we’d like to introduce you to Lauren Hernandez.
Hi Lauren, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Well, there is a bit of irony within my story. I learned about social media through my older sibling Ashley, and I was just another teenager that loved beauty and fashion, so seeing there was a possible opportunity that I at 16 could share the passion I had for it. That’s when I began my journey on Youtube and Instagram, searching for a way to be seen and that’s exactly what happened.
I wanted to be different, as cliche, as it may sound I was picked on at a really young age and mainly for my looks, processing all of that, was difficult so I made it my responsibility to make my platform a safe space for girls who felt the same. I genuinely loved how it felt to consistently post looks and share the best/worst products. Soon enough I was working with Charlotte Tilbury and Bobbi Brown at the age of 17 not knowing that this was going to be my life to this day.
So, here we are in 2022 with 8+ years of experience and teaching other individuals that they can do it too, while still doing what I love is reviewing beauty products and clothing for plus size creators. It’s incredible and I am amazed myself to say, that I have had amazing opportunities with companies that trust my judgment on the new and improved products.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Challenges? Tons, but I battle mostly with brands not trying to find my worth and pay me as a micro-influencer. Finding a way to construct a system that will allow brands to see that my work is as valued as a regular 100K+ creator. I talk about this openly because I want others to know that this is an ongoing problem and to remember their worth.
Also, when you heard people talk about weight gain or bring a bit more vulnerability to a platform is very touchy, the amount of hatred some people may have is so sad. As I was growing on all of my platforms, people would purposely pick on my weight or ance or just the little details of my makeup routine. My socials have always been a judgment FREE zone and ever since I started social media it’s been very difficult at times to want to continue when I was younger, now? It doesn’t really get to me!
I will always say “You can’t please everyone and you need to remind yourself that you are authentic, you are doing amazing and everyone can’t comprehend that.”

I deliver reviews on the hottest and new makeup releases and also share my thoughts on the makeup community. I have recently been specializing in GRWMs on Tiktok which is basically almost like a facetime call that allows me to show you how I get ready and show the end result. I have been working hard behind the scenes for some amazing campaigns coming soon and can’t wait to share!!
I think what makes me different from other content creators is that I share the ultimate guide to growing on social media, I don’t mind helping the next future possible star and call them a friend. I don’t know why we gatekeep all the numbers or possibilities that are practically endless, why not help your audience to inspire us to be who or where we are?
I will always share the secrets and that won’t ever stop. That’s what I’m most proud of.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
Yes, I have actually in the last two years discovered the use of 3rd party influencer sites that will orchestrate campaigns from the brand themselves while in communication with me and we discuss the partnership.
It’s honestly one of the best things I’ve ever discovered and will gladly name a few: ACTIVATE, ASPIRE, OCTOLY!
