Today we’d like to introduce you to Breonna Harris.
Hi Breonna, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up as a kid, I always had a need to write down a lot of the ideas that would cross my mind, and I noticed into adulthood it had become more than just “jotting things down”. It was an organizational tool, as well as a creative outlet for me. I had become so incredibly invested in as an outlet for other people, that about 2 years ago I went on a search for a team of graphic designers that could bring my vision into fruition by designing a more personalized custom planner. I was so lucky when I finally met the most amazing graphic designer by the name of Dymond (Dymenaiicreative) who was able to translate my vision into more than just an idea. We worked relentlessly, page by page, designing the planner and before we knew it; we were on the market for a production company that could professionally print and bind the planner. There are always challenges when keeping consistent communication with vendors who live in completely opposite time zones, and I am glad the energy that it took to keep production alive finally paid off! It took a few months, but in less than a year I was receiving inventory and shipping orders! The most rewarding part about the whole process is that the support was extremely amazing as well.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When you’re building something, specifically when it’s a creative venture, it is not always going to be an “easy” or “smooth” road. I will say that what I have learned from the growth process is to always make sure you’re improving by trial and error. I have seen it all, production issues, incorrect inventory, sizes and quantities mishaps, and at the end of the day no matter what I have to be quick on my feet and deal with any and all issues — big problems and small problems. It’s a part of any success story, and if you can get better at it, learn from it, & master it, you will be successful in your craft. People, whether it’s a client, or someone you’re working with, can cancel on you at any given second. The “work-around” to That is to 1) always have a back up plan and 2) save yourself the time and effort and do things independently. When you’re running a business you can’t take things personal & you can’t let those things distract you or hinder your productivity.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Girls With Goals and Bankrolls has truly been a blessing and an eye opener for me. I have had women reach out to me directly to share stories of how the planner helped them stay organized & more in tune with themselves, or they reach out and share stories of how the planner created a safe foundation for them to take control of the things that we sometimes think are out of our control. Within my professional specialization, I have been helping families, individuals, and businesses for 8 years at my personal tax firm. When I’m not in the office processing taxes, I have a logistics company that handles freight for consumer goods, which was a new business venture that I’ve been working at for the past year. What sets me apart is that I do whatever it takes to achieve the information I seek. I’ll do research in my free time and not only do I end up figuring out the answers to my inclinations, but I also never take “no” for an answer, because there’s always a solution. I must say that I am astonished by the amount of positivity that the brand brings to the community, and what the community brings back to me. Everyone has been genuinely supportive, and the kind words that I receive from supporters are amazing and just keeps me motivated share that with everyone else! Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Overall I was a shy kid but I know deep down inside I always had a lot to say. I started realizing that while growing up and out of my shell in high school. One thing about me is that I love to learn something that I don’t know yet. It is definitely a part of who I am and I see that every day as I shoot for the stars in business and in life in general.
