Today we’d like to introduce you to Lorelle Woods.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
September 14, 2017 was the day it all began. I had finally admitted I was tired of the life I was living and decided enough was enough. I realized that when you want your life to change and you want to become a better you and live with purpose on purpose, you have to let everything that bothers you, go. I chose to isolate myself, to heal, learn and be who I am supposed to be.
I told all my friends and family I was stepping away and to not contact me until I was ready to come around again. I said this out of love. I had to do this for me and my life. I was away for 8 months! The only people I talked to were my co-workers and my husband. Everyday I sat in silence for hours and drove in silence. I chose silence because I knew that everything and everyone around me was an influence and I didn’t want anyone’s way of thinking but my own. It was a season of discovery! I chose to give my life to Jesus Christ! Sometime in April 2018, I was in prayer and God revealed to me a vision. It was short and sweet but I heard in that moment that I was going to head in a different direction personally and professionally. This willpower came over me and I felt like it was a call that I had to answer. I was told by God to document my healing and growth because I was going to be using my story to help others overcome their pains in life. I have several journals all filled with how I got to where I am today!
During my isolation, I started my fitness journey! Weight training became therapeutic for me. I would go in with an intention of gaining clarity, building strength physically and mentally. Strength training causes you to practice on focusing your mind on a specific area. Therefore you are building mental strength. I became strong enough in my mind that it started pouring into other areas of me. I became more confident, determined, emotionally stable, and learned how to manage my anxiety and depression. Fitness is a tool I use for my life!
I studied to become a Life Coach in 2018 to help others through healing their life pains and getting back to their true self. Later that year, I became a personal trainer and it has changed my life! It was in the moment of training one of my first clients that I heard this power in my voice as I was motivating my client! My purpose became clear when I realized that I can teach others how to develop physical skills and mental skills to become strong in their lives.
I am a Fitness Trainer and Life Coach! I started my career at The Perfect Workout and later moved on to Equinox and LifeTime. 2020 I jumped out on Faith and started my training business called Bodied by Lo. I programmed monthly fitness challenges and trained clients 1:1. It was in 2021, that I got nudged to take my training business in another direction. Today, I have a training business called Fitness Therapy Training! It’s strength training for mental health!
There is so much more to my story but we would be here all day and maybe the next 2 days! Haha!
I am using my testimony of how Jesus renewed my mind and gave me strength to get back to who I was made to be!
I share my story because it is my very purpose in life to share it!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Is there ever a smooth road? Ha! The biggest challenge for me was letting go of my old self and allowing God to lead me and guide me in the direction I should go personally and professionally. There was a lot of fear, anxiety, uncertainty, and lack of confidence along the way. Stepping out on pure Faith can be a little scary at first, but it is the very substance of Faith that lifts you up and keeps you going. Being an entrepreneur, I don’t think this road is meant to be smooth! I appreciate that though, I mean how else do you learn and grow, right?!
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Fitness Therapy Training is a self-paced, self-directed strength training and mental health program that includes accountability coaching. I developed a weight loss and muscle building program that are for all fitness levels and men and woman ages 18-55. I offer personalized programs for anyone 55+!
I bridge the gap between, I deeply desire to be and I don’t know where to start. We have to start with the mind and body! We are housed in our bodies! It’s our vehicle in life that can make or break our destinations! I help men and women build up their body with strong muscles and good health, all while healing and renewing their minds at the same time!
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Absolutely! Start with praying to God for a mentor, coach or individuals you should connect with. Tell him the qualities and characteristics you are looking for in a mentor or people you would like to meet. This will set your mind on putting yourself in spaces to meet others.
What’s been working well for me and the growth of my business is connecting with others through facebooks groups or any group/organization. Get into to groups that are of your interests, goals, or business-related. There are a ton of genuine people who are out there ready to pour into you and help you grow!
