Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiara M. Tucker.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Before I even knew what passion meant, I now realize that at a very young age I had a passion for communicating, advocacy, networking, and empowerment that has carried over into adulthood. When I was a little girl, I would dream of being a businesswoman with my own desk and briefcase. I would even pull up a chair and use my dresser as my desk because I loved the thought of a desk until I finally got my first one. I also loved to speak and represent my classmates and school.
Now, decades later, I can say that many of my dreams and visualizations as a young child growing up in Kankakee, IL have manifested. I can now proudly say that my big dreaming and hard work is paying off. As a result of not giving up on my dreams or myself, I am a sought-after PR and communications strategist; international speaker; communications and speaking coach; community, social justice and mental health advocate; and the visionary founder of Tiara PR Network, LLC and Speak That! Movement, Inc.
Tiara Public Relations (PR) Network, LLC is my award-winning communications boutique firm providing executive-level communications support and PR strategy for established professionals, organizations and high-profile projects desiring to make a positive impact in the community. Speak That! Movement is my women-led, social action charitable organization with a mission to equip and empower professional women in business along their journeys of dream and goal realization, while supporting them to combat mental health issues and social injustice roadblocks along the way, so they can unapologetically walk in their purpose, use their voice, and live their best lives. I have great pride and joy in both of these efforts because they both truly started with a vision and have blossomed and impacted countless individuals around the world.
Another one of my childhood dreams entailed me living in a big city, and although I never imagined I’d be living in Texas, I was relocated here in 2012 my Fortune 50 employer (yes, I still have a Corporate job), and it has been a wonderful, life-changing experience. After 30 years in Illinois, I now call Texas my other home. As I am approaching a new decade of my life, I am excited about what the next 10 years and more will manifest.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I don’t think any level of success or accomplishments can legitimately come without any obstacles or challenges. I have faced imposter syndrome, anxiety, doubt, fear, rejection, unnecessary drama, injustice, and low bank accounts. However, as the great Maya Angelou stated, “Still I Rise!”
I have learned that my strength lies within my belief in myself, my resiliency, my relentless mentality, and my trust in God. In 2019, I wanted to give up on all of my dreams, but I Rose! I have to attribute my ability to rise to my willingness to pause and sit down. I believe we can find the answers and peace we are seeking in life in the state of pausing, being still and quiet enough to know what our next steps need to be. That year, I took the time to focus on my purpose and my calling, and I declared to myself I would be unstoppable.
I have seen so much manifest since 2019. In 2020 when the world was shut down, I started fearlessly making silent and big moves in multiple realms of my life. My connections expanded, my mindset grew and my desire to live my best life increased. In fact, since March of 2021, I was featured in Black Enterprise as one of “10 Amazing Black Women Making Moves Right Now.” That same year, I was honored as a “40 Under 40” by the Dallas Public Relations Society of America and as a Junior League of Collin County Women of Influence Award nominee. I have been a guest lecturer for Harvard University, and a guest speaker for multiple universities, organizations and shows.
I ended 2021 by taking a major step of faith by opening up my very own executive office – the Tiara PR Network Communications Boutique Firm! I look forward to all of the Tiara PR Network and Speak That! Movement events and efforts that will take place from this new office! I also can’t wait to celebrate my organizations and community members on March 26, 2022 in Dallas at the Speak That! Movement Fundraiser Brunch! Visit www.SpeakThatMovement.com to learn more and meet us in Dallas! It’s going to be amazing!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Tiara PR Network and Speak That! Movement?
When I think about my organizations and efforts, I can sum my thoughts up with the words of the legendary Notorious B.I.G., BKA Biggie Smalls, “It was all a dream!” (And, yes, I used to read Word Up! Magazine, lol).
By simply doing what I love, I established Tiara PR Network as a startup company to create a unique and purposeful experience for clients and others, while empowering and supporting them along their journeys of dream and goal realization. I turned my hobby into an LLC in 2019, and I still can’t wait to see it grow. My network consists of a solid foundation of quality relationships, connections and experiences with some of the most successful and highly-sought-after people in their respective fields.
I have had the pleasure of working with professional athletes, Civil Rights Attorneys, Grammy Award Winning Artists, Corporate/Business/Nonprofit executives, speakers, authors, and people from all walks of life. I am currently working on a political campaign for a candidate running for a Texas House Representative position.
We embrace our unique PR approach to help PRomote, PRogress and PRotect our clients’ purpose, brands, reputation, lives, dreams, and goals. We have helped launch, support and promote multiple brands throughout the United States and even in the UK.
As a respected and resourceful Black-owned small business, we are dedicated to making a positive difference in the community and in the lives of others. We are also very passionate about the noteworthy and high-profile PR work we have accomplished in the social justice and mental health space, which has included some of our collaborative efforts being featured on national media TV outlets, such as CNN, CBS, ABC, NBC, Fox, and in local, national, and international print, web and podcast publications that reach millions of worldwide viewers.
The beauty is that my love for my communications boutique firm ties nicely to my Corporate career where I specialize in community impact work, leadership support, philanthropy, events, and associate engagement. It also connects to the efforts of my nonprofit organization.
In 2011, I executed on my vision to create an empowering, entertaining and diverse community event in Bloomington, IL, called “Speak That!” Ten years later, Speak That! Movement has become an impactful source of empowerment and connectivity when professionals in business need it most. I have created, produced and hosted over a hundred virtual and in-person events over the years. I am grateful for my Executive Board, as well as every donor, sponsor, volunteer, customer, and supporter of Speak That! Movement. I’m looking forward to readers of this article joining us on a transformational journey that entails manifesting the 4 Pillars of our Movement so that you can live your best life!

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
My shameless plug is to say that my baby, Speak That! Talks, is my favorite resource to help me and others do our best in life and live our best life. What started as a vision, Speak That! Talks debuted on May 7, 2020 as a result of the impact of COVID-19 and social unrest on mental health. I just felt the urge to pause and go live to talk about what we all were facing. Speak That! Talks is the unscripted, unfiltered and uncensored platform created for diverse guests to virtually participate in a live conversation with special guest speakers from all over the world on the Speak That! Movement Facebook and YouTube pages.
Speak That! Talks is your unique opportunity to pause to feel empowered, uplifted and included; virtually network with other business professionals; talk about trending hot topics (or listen and learn); and discover how you can unapologetically live your best life and make a positive impact. We are also combatting mental health and social injustices along the way.
After 53 consecutive Thursdays of Speak That! Talks episodes, I took a break in May of 2021 until Season 2, which I hope to launch in early 2022! You can catch all of the re-plays featuring nearly 100 guest speakers on the Speak That! Movement Facebook and YouTube pages as you await the highly-anticipated Season 2!
If you are a speaker, coach or business professional with a powerful and empowering message to share with the Speak That! Talks audience, and you want to be considered to be a guest speaker, let me know. I LOVE to coach speakers and plan to do more in 2022. My firm, Tiara PR Network, will help you along with your guest speaker journey by providing all of your speaker coaching, training, marketing materials, and PR needs.
