Hidden Gems: Meet Natalie Ramchandani of Batch! Please Bakery

Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Ramchandani.

Hi Natalie, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Batch! Please Bakery was originally founded almost 4 years ago in October of 2018. I really wanted to try my hand at selling homemade goods to keep myself busy and hopefully make some money in the process. I started off with lots of fall flavors and solely sold bread loaves to our church friends, my mother’s clients whom she also gifted during Christmas as treats and personal contacts. The positive feedback I received was surprising and overwhelming so I was immediately hooked from there.

As my confidence grew, so did the complexity of requests my son would make for his birthday. Since Covid was just hitting in full force at the time and safety was paramount in the uncertainty of it, I felt more comfortable making his cake. His requested LEGO head cake was my first attempt at a custom creation and was a huge learning experience. I unknowingly jumped into the deep end of multiple techniques like carving, fillings, and molding fondant. Anything for our kids, right?! Well, lots of every type of emotion went into the making of his cake, but he absolutely loved it, which made me feel great. I fell in love with the challenge of customizing an edible creation and seeing the smile on my son’s face. From there, I was given the honor of making my beautiful niece’s first birthday cake and was able to experience that same feeling again. This helped prove to myself that it was not luck the first time around.

Fast forwarding to today, I am so grateful for what I have been able to accomplish thus far. Being a part of so many birthdays, anniversaries, gender reveals and even a few weddings have been such a privilege. I owe this to my amazing community, family and friends. I hope to continue serving my desserts for many years to come and hopefully grow the business more each year!

We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road has not always been smooth or easy to travel. It has been a slow growth which turned out to be great for me in hindsight because I was still able to be available for my kids and their activities. Additionally, Covid had a large impact on orders and there were times when I did not have any for weeks. I would get discouraged and lose confidence in my desserts thinking that perhaps they were not on par with other home bakers. Fortunately for me, I had a strong support system around me to pick me up when I was down on myself.

Ultimately, this only fueled me to work harder. Now, I am very confident in myself, my flavors and my work. Add onto this an even larger support network in the amazing cottage baker’s network that my husband found in our local area publication and every day is a step in the right direction, We give advice, build up and empower each other to be the best we can in our craft.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Batch! Please Bakery?
Batch! Please Bakery is a home business that specializes in custom cakes. In addition to this, I also make cupcakes, macarons, drop cookies, decorated sugar cookies and bundt cakes! I refuse to shy away from any challenge and specialize in cakes for any occasion.

My amazing clients have raved that my flavors are on point! The creations are only one part of it because I believe what sets me apart from others is my customer service. I know that they have the option to choose from so many talented individuals and the fact they trust my bakery makes me want to go the extra mile.

With Batch! Please Bakery, what I’m most proud of is the fact that I’ve been able to work with so many different people around my community that I otherwise would have never met. I want everyone to know that when you place an order with me, it will receive the utmost level of attention, dedication, and love. The same as I would give if it was made for a family member. I absolutely love what I do and want that to come across from first sight of your dessert to the taste.

What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is the great customer service that everyone gets from bake to take. You will get the attention that you deserve.
