Today we’d like to introduce you to Rashi Agrawal.
Hi Rashi, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
KR Neuro Physical Therapy was born March 2021. I had been working as a physical therapist for about 5 years and had this harrowing feeling of being unfulfilled as a physical therapist. I couldn’t exactly place my finger on it at first but as I started working and the years passed, I noticed obvious holes in the healthcare system. I particularly worked for the neurological patient population where patients had suffered from strokes, tumors, Parkinson’s, concussions, and other traumatic events. However often times insurance would dictate how often a patient could be seen and would suddenly cut off patients from quality care. Soon, insurance companies would start reimbursing physical therapy clinics I worked at for less, and the stress of having to see more than 1 patient an hour was starting to pile up. I soon realized the reason I was so unfulfilled with my profession wasn’t the profession itself, it was just how healthcare was being delivered to the patients. I then finally opened my own practice where I didn’t accept insurance but rather focused on intensity and frequency of physical therapy visits to be decided between the patient, myself and the appropriate team members. I wanted to truly provide quality care, give undivided attention to my patients, and have more access to them so they didn’t feel unheard or unimportant. Being a patient myself several times, time with the provider was always a crucial element and so I built a practice that focused on quality care, accessibility to your provider, and undivided attention.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I’m so grateful to say the entrepreneurship road for me has not been too bumpy. The biggest obstacle was by far quitting my full-time job and entering into a world of uncertainty. I don’t handle uncertainty particularly well but I somehow went into survival mode and knew I wanted to make this work. I think the anxiety of wanting to open the clinic and actually taking the step to do it was much harder than actually running the clinic. I often believe it’s not the smartest person in the room that will open their own business, it’s just the ones that actually do it, that will find success.
We’ve been impressed with KR Neuro Physical Therapist, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
KR Neuro Physical Therapy is truly a people’s business where you don’t feel like just another patient. Your concerns, your aches/pain, your frustrations with pain and how you move are all valid and we are absolutely here for you. We focus on hands-on techniques to help our patients and really believe in analyzing how you move so we can best diagnose you and provide the best treatment for you. One of the best things about physical therapy is that it’s not invasive and can be extremely effective in helping people feel better. However, because we focus our attention on you, watch you move, and spend so much time actually palpating and using hands on techniques, we see results immediately. Patients become friends and do become of our KR Neuro Physical Therapy family. We love collaborating with your team and make sure you have the right team to help address your needs. We help serve those with any orthopedic injuries, neurological conditions, and women’s health including pregnancy/post-partum. Our sessions are always with a skilled physical therapist and usually are about 45-60 minutes in length. We provide in person and virtual sessions and on occasion, we do house visits depending on where the patient lives. We want our patients to feel like themselves and help them balance all their daily roles without the nagging pains holding them back.
So, before we go, how can our readers or others connect or collaborate with you? How can they support you?
