Inspiring Conversations with Amarachi Onwuegbuchu of Amie’s Essentials

Today we’d like to introduce you to Amarachi Onwuegbuchu.

Hi Amarachi, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I started Amie’s Essentials in August 2020, and no, it wasn’t because of the pandemic or that I needed a career change. I started my company for two big reasons. The first is that I have very reactive skin and scalp, so it was always challenging to find products that wouldn’t turn me into an itchy monster. Secondly, I had just done a second big chop, and I wanted to grow my hair the right way by healing and nourishing my scalp. So I started to research natural ingredients (plants, oils, and butters) that would continue to feed my hair and skin with nutrients as I used them. I wanted to create products that people would be proud and confident to put on themselves without worrying about harsh chemicals damaging their skin and hair.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has not been an easy journey, but it has been an exciting journey. I am always learning something new about being an entrepreneur as the journey unfolds. As someone who has worked in the customer service industry, I honestly thought I knew what it required to start my own business, and boy was I wrong. I remember telling my mom that someone should have warned me about how challenging starting and operating a business by yourself is and how people on Instagram made it look so easy. Convincing me that all it took to be a successful small business was to post on Instagram, and you would become an instant millionaire.

I wear so many hats in this company because I solely run this business myself, from making the products to marketing the products and packaging and shipping orders. Therefore, I had to learn digital marketing, time management, and the importance of taking breaks to avoid burnout.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Amie’s Essentials?
Amie’s Essentials is an organic body, hair, and beard care product company specializing in providing a healthier way to care for your skin and hair by utilizing what nature has given us. Our goal is to create a clean, safe, and nutrient-packed alternative to the everyday body/hair products that we are used to and are also filled with ingredients that are not beneficial to us.

We carry a wide range of products, from whipped butters to oils, and washes for your hair, body, and beard with specific ingredients to nurture each category. So, what makes us unique? We are different because of the keen attention to everything we put into our products (how they are made and also how they are packaged). As a result, you are reassured that what you are putting on your skin and hair will continue to heal you, helping you present your best glowy, healthy, silky, and nourished hair and skin forward.

P.s. everything is made and packaged in a sterile environment to eliminate the risk of possible contamination.

I am most proud of the feedback we have received from everyone who has tried any of our products and to see that organic growth is refreshing.

If you are looking for clean and nutrient-rich products that will have people breaking their necks to give you compliments and help you chill and bamba with the boys, head over to our website and experience the difference today!

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is being happy and content in yourself, knowing that you are doing something that positively impacts someone’s life.
