Today we’d like to introduce you to Christopher Pittman. He and his team share their story with us below:
Christopher Pittman, Owner and Founder of Pittman Academy – Training Companies and individuals in how to set Specific Goals and Targets, Structure, Accountability and how to Execute. Specialized Training for individuals (within a team or not) to develop skills that will results in increase revenue – mostly done through sales. With the end goal being increasing the companies revenue by 30-40% yearly.
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California to an amazing immigrant woman from El Salvador. I have an older sister(2 1/2 years older) who I was always around and who I grew up closely with. Our father walked out on us when I was around 6-7 months old and it put my mother in a very difficult position. That might have played into my mother being very strict and raised me with certain morals and taught me how to be a Man at a young age. My mother worked 2+ jobs to keep the lights on and food on the table and not once did I ever hear her make an excuse or complain. That also taught me how to be responsible and disciplined as a boy. It showed me that anything is possible and if you have the right knowledge and information you can get to the next level in life.
I remember that all of my friends and teachers would always say that I wasn’t shy and that I have a natural way of speaking to people and in building connections. All though I believe that some of that might be true, I would say that I was never really used that to my advantage. I would actually lack self-confidence in making big time decisions that could change my life.
I did what mostly everyone in America thinks is the right thing to do. Graduate High School, go to college and get your degree on what you will be living on for the rest of your life. I did drop out of College after my second year. The reason why is I started to think of what I actually wanted in life – and it was much more than being a big time attorney and making 6 figures a year. I started to think about how I can put myself and family and a great not just comfortable position for the rest of our lives. That is what school doesn’t teach. They teach you how how to get a job(maybe a good one) and continue to be in the rat race for the rest of your life and not how to be free – which is the true AMERICAN DREAM.
After dropping out of college I made a decision that would change my life forever. I served a 2-Year Mission for the church of my faith – Latter-Day-Saints better known as the Mormons. I served in Mexico City. Our goal is to serve the people, bring them to the church, get them to believe in what I believe in and ultimately make them a member of our church through baptism. I learned that I did have the certain skills that my family, friends and teachers said I had. That skill isn’t just speaking, it is the skill that leads to SELLING. I might get backlashed for this next comment, but even though I was acting upon faith and speaking from the heart, what I was doing is selling someone on my idea of a better religion and church – AND I WAS GREAT AT IT.
After returning from my Mission, I decided to be a salesman and not have a cap on what I can make a year. I did it all. Door to Door Sales, Car Sales, Credit, Insurance, Big ticket courses and Selling Training Programs..etc In every job that I had I remember that I got asked to be a leader or the Manager to train and assist the other sale reps. So I was a big shot as they say.
I made a decision to take an opportunity in the East Coast, Miami, Florida to work with one of the best Sales Gurus in the World, Grant Cardone. I remember that I received a call from his office and I accepted the employment and told them that I would be out in 2 weeks. I was leaving my entire family behind in the West Coast, I didn’t know anyone in the East Coast. I had maybe a couple of hundred bucks in my bank account and to top it all off I also didn’t have a place in Miami that I would be going to. I just had to figure that out.
That decision changed my life forever. I was forced out of my comfort zone. I had to learn how to think differently and how to adapt. I developed new skills that I can now share with all of my clients and students. Being Free and making money is easier than ever. When you learn how to play the selling game you can make money – no matter how young/old – no matter if you are in the office or at the beach and the best part of all is that you determine how GREAT YOU WANT TO BE.
Our Main GOAL at Pittman Academy is to give you the information and knowledge that you need to let your skills dictate what life you will live. And of course, use that to help you become FREE and take care of your family forever. That is what matters the most and why we do what we do.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has been very tough. Away from my family and friends for 2-3 years.
No money in the bank when I started.
Moved from the West Coast to East without knowing anyone.
Moved without a place to stay in Miami.
Moved to Miami and had to sleep in my uhaul the first night until I found someone that would rent me a room.
My Room in Miami was small with an AC that would leak on top of my bed and flood my room.
Missed all of the Holidays and Birthdays with my family.
Went through Depression.
