Introducing Brian Albiter of Albiter Digital Solutions in River Oaks

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brian Albiter.

Brian, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
Albiter Digital Solutions started in a very unique way. Around mid-2011 when I failed to get into medical school, I lost my scholarship and I was faced with a tough decision, which was “what am I going to do now?” Sports and science were all I knew growing up and what I love the most. That is when I randomly decided to contact modeling and acting agencies in the Houston, Austin and Dallas area. Soon after, I signed into these agencies and in a matter of three months, a signed with more in Los Angeles and New York City. Around 2012, I decided to get a Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram, what I would do is post my behind the scenes of modeling photoshops, I would also post some behind the scenes of commercials or short films I was filming.

Soon after through networking and traveling I fell in love with PR, marketing and sales and that’s when I decided to go back to school and go for a marketing degree. As I attended school I would continue to model, act and travel, I received my associates in public relations. That is when in one of my travels I realized that many restaurants, coffee shops and small businesses didn’t have a website, apps, social media, etc. and I wanted to do something about it since I knew so many photographers, videographers, PR and marketers. So, in my last semester as a junior at the university, I decided to save my money and not pay that semester. But what I did instead was started a digital marketing agency, targeting restaurants, coffee shops, massage therapists, dentist and physical therapists.

Has it been a smooth road?
Nothing in business is smooth. When I had to learn was how to start a business, how to understand laws in business, made a lot of friends who are attorneys, I learn tax structures, I learned that entrepreneurs do not have health care and there is a whole legal process to obtain that, I learned not only to people manage but also hiring people. I learned the difference between hiring the perfect ideal candidate versus outsourcing the work. I learn hands-on PR/sales/marketing and cold calling. I learned all of this but not from a university but by actually doing it hands-on in my business.

So, as you know, we’re impressed with Albiter Digital Solutions – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of as a company and what sets you apart from others.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
What I love about Houston is the mentality of always hustling, I was working whether that is a hands-on job or sitting in a desk and hustling through a computer or your phone. I love that Houston is so diverse. I love that it is only getting bigger and bigger as a city. Living in New York City taught me so much and to only apply it in a huge city like Houston makes perfect sense. If we lived in a perfect world, I would want Houston to have an even more of a hustler mentality that only New York City has. Not that Houston doesn’t have it, but it’s not at a New York City level.
