Life and Work with Alex Herrera

Today we’d like to introduce you to Alex Herrera.

So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I started my blog a little over a year ago. I had just graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX with a BBA in Marketing. I had been separated from all of my college friends who live in Dallas and was going through a bad case of post-college depression. It was a spur of the moment decision because frankly if I sat and thought about it, I would have talked myself out of it.

I wanted to vlog my college experience and never got around to doing it (which I deeply regret). I didn’t want to regret anything else, so I took a big leap of faith and started a blog. I knew I wasn’t the only one experiencing the same feelings I felt after graduating college and figured I could share my voice in hopes to help others transition into adult life.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Does anything ever go smoothly as planned?

I had the normal technical difficulties of learning the ropes of blogging but, YouTube and Google quickly became my best friends.

About four months after starting my blog, my family was hit with some rough news. We were hit with the dreaded C-word, and my mother was diagnosed with stage-one Breast Cancer.

So, I hit the brakes on the blog, and focused on her health, with the rest of my family. I am extremely thankful that the doctors caught it early and that she has fully recovered.

My tips to other women are to get your yearly check-ups religiously, and never let an obstacle steer you away from reaching your dreams. With God, you can conquer anything.

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”. – Jeremiah 29:11

Please tell us about Love Always Alex.
Not only do I blog, but I also work full time at a marketing agency. I love the fact that my readers can relate to me; a “girl boss” working in the real world. I created Love Always Alex not just as an outlet for my feelings, but to also help others who are experiencing the same struggles as I am with fashion tips along the way. My blog covers adulting tips, fashion, and travel.
