Today we’d like to introduce you to Cara Miller and Megan Magill
Cara and Megan are the creators of the Simply Seasonal Cooking Show, where they teach simple ways to use seasonal foods to balance, heal, and thrive.
As a Natural Foods Chef and Holistic Health Coach, Megan was working in Houston, in her health coaching business and starting her own herbal tea company, Modern Sage.
Cara spent years working with personal clients, leading cooking classes and running an online program for her health coaching business, Taking Cara You.
Their serendipitous meeting brought them together one day when they were out walking their dogs. Within minutes, Megan and Cara knew something was cooking between them as they quickly discovered their similar businesses, passions, and beliefs.
One month later, they began brainstorming about a cooking show and by December, they recorded their first episode which was released on the Winter Solstice. Each week they continue releasing fun new episodes talking about the simple ways to heal through seasonal eating!
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
For the first time, we feel like we’re exactly where we need to be. After years of running our own businesses and struggling to grow, the collaboration for the “Simply Seasonal Cooking Show” has been bubbling out of us. It’s something that’s been inside and waiting to unfold.
The subjects, recipes, and content follow the cycle of nature including our own ebbs and flows. We have found balance in the yin and yang of our skills and use it to focus on our strengths.
Our challenge ahead will be turning this passion project into a thriving business. One that we see with no limit but in that, struggling to find the place to start.
The universe brought this opportunity to us through our hard work, so with patience, we will continue to trust the process.
So, as you know, we’re impressed with Simply Seasonal Cooking Show – tell our readers more, for example, what you’re most proud of and what sets you apart from others.
We realized that there was something missing in the market, and that was an easy way to learn how to heal naturally through food on a deeper level.
Through our backgrounds in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda, the answer was simple, healing can be found through seasonal eating.
“The earth gives us exactly what we need during each time of year. When we eat in a “Simply Seasonal” way, our bodies balance and heal so we can thrive.”
What sets us apart from others is that we are a cooking show that goes deeper into the healing energies of food.
We look to tradition and go back to the ways humans have evolved and healed over thousands of years. This approach really simplifies health and healing allowing us to tap into our own intuition which leaves our clients and viewers with many- ah ha! moments.
Through the “Simply Seasonal Cooking Show”, we are able to offer short and fun weekly episodes to share these simple tips to incorporate healing seasonal foods throughout the year.
Who have you been inspired by?
Andrea Beaman has been a huge inspiration as she demonstrates the healing powers of traditional wisdom to heal herself of autoimmune disease. Kris Carr is another inspiration as she naturally put her “incurable” cancer diagnosis to remission through food as medicine.
On the business side, Marie Forleo gives us light and insight as to how to move forward with a business plan.
All of these amazing women show us how learning valuable life-changing information can be presented in a fun and light-hearted tone. We want to deliver the same and pay it forward.
We feel the power of women helping women in this world and we hope we can inspire women all over the world to take control of their health and their one body they are given in this lifetime. Not just to survive, but to thrive!
