Today we’d like to introduce you to Chloe’ Flowers.
So, before we jump into specific questions, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
I’ve been a writer since I learned how to write a proper sentence. Elementary school is where my journey started. I always had journals and often got them as gifts for Christmas and birthdays. I’d write anything – my feelings, poems, song lyrics. I knew these words were sacred and often hid my journals in my room. By the time I got to college, I was writing 8 or 9 pages in one sitting while journaling. Starting my blog LADYFOX felt really natural, but MAJOR because this was the first time I’ve shared my words with the public.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
In my experience, it has been a smooth road. If I had to give advice for other women who are just starting their journey, I’d say – do what you’re passionate about, then it won’t feel like work.
Please tell us about Ladyfox.
I am a lifestyle blogger and a freelance writer. I am most proud of my ability to be transparent and relatable. As a writer, it is easy to get caught up on sounding a certain way. I take pride in my edge and providing enjoyable content for people who didn’t know they liked to read! What sets me apart from others is the style in which I share, I am vulnerable and creative simultaneously.
Do you think there are structural or other barriers impeding the emergence of more female leaders?
The biggest barrier in female leadership is the time it takes for us to realize our magic. Most women have talent in there somewhere but it’s always tucked away. In general, if women – (women of color especially) we’re given the time and space to discover their talents, this industry would be more authentic.
